Ive carried (or tried to) this light for 2 yrs or so. Ive had nothing but problems. Tried to use it in some night training, but its so unreliable, I couldn't use it. The battery runs down in a few days, even without use. The rubber gasket that seals the battery came off after the first battery change. The cross switch is very easy to turn on during daylight hours, often without realizing it. If your life depends on carrying a light and gun, this is NOT the light for you. Streamlight TLR or Surefire X300 are much better options.
Cons:
- batteries run down quickly
- battery o-ring
Best Used for:
- posing in a pic for instagram
- throwing away $200

I will start off by saying there are some positives with the light, it is tough( I know this because it keeps falling off my gun) and I like having a regular battery. It works ok inside of the house for lighting up a room but once outside past about 20 yards the beam is so weak you can not get a good view of your target. That was just running drills at home. Fast forward to the weekend after I bought it, I went to the range and after approximately 100 rounds it worked off the gun (Glock 30 Gen4) so I re attached and re tightened it again and at about another 100-125 round off it came again. So one more time and guess what same thingy. The attachment screw will not stay tight under recoil. I would stay away for the price there are way more reliable lights .

After 400 rounds at the range and less than a month carry the light has failed. I own over ten surefire products and have always paid the premium for a guarantee that light will be there when I need it. All my Surefire products from Filament bulbs to LEDs have always worked and never failed no matter how much I beat them up in the field, work, or at home. I am very disappointed with this product. The wide consistent light pattern, size, and AAA is great. However, the constant on switch needs tactile feedback and the momentary switches could be a little longer. I could have lived with the minor issues but this failure put absolute doubt into trusting this light with my life need the situation arise.

I bought this for my Glock 29 thinking that Surefire would have designed a solid product given their track record. Every time I shoot my gun with the light attached it falls off within 1 or 2 mags. I tried tightening the bolt that holds it on to the point where it broke. After I got a replacement bolt and made sure it was tight before shooting it again to no avail. The light fell off again. Now I'm stuck with a $260 gun light that won't attach to my gun. I can't return it since its been more than 30 days and Surefire won't do anything for me. They just tell me my Glock rail must be out of spec which I don't think is the case. Regardless, this light should have been designed to hold onto any glock rail regardless of any minor differences. Very disappointed in Surefire for this product.

Product speaks for itself! No issues to date; the 200 lumens is more than sufficient with most handgun applications! SureFire makes a great product! Keep the hits coming, definitely not my last purchase with the manufacturer!

Light flickering and going out upon activation after mounted on firearm and @ 200 rounds fired. Very disappointed in a Surefire product. Hopefully XC2 will be better. .......................................................................................

I didnt heed the reviews in amazon and other locations.
Issues: 1.) mysterious battery drain, all lithium/alkaline/rechargeable included. 2.) turns off and/or flickers during firing. 3.) activation fails due to button design. 4.) 200 lumens? More like 20!
Do yourselves a favor and get the cheaper and newer g19 option for weapon light. I wanted a AA light but this one is terrible. I normally trust surefire, but this was a total miss!

Long story short: Bought 2x XC1 because 1x had to be exchanged due to it having parasitic battery drain. Exchanged it because of Optics Planet has excellent customer service!
End: The XC1 is a great compact light!
Originally bought the XC1 because I didn't want the holster to be overly large when I was carrying my G19 with Surefire X300 appendix in the waistband. Found a smaller option: XC1. The lumens compared from the X300 to the XC1 is more than half, but sometimes more is not better. After I received the light and installed it to the on to the pistol, I turned it on to do a operations check. Less than 3 days later, even with the fresh factory provided lithium double A battery, the light would deplete the battery. Swapped out the battery to a new one, then next day, it would be dead. I didn't think a few operation checks from time to time would justify the battery dying so quickly. Got online and did some research. Found some forums that spoke about it the parasitic drain on the battery. Contacted Optic's Planets customers service via online chat and was able to send the faulty XC1 back and have it exchanged quickly.
The new XC1 came quickly, and was installed quickly. Factory provided lithium battery installed and operations checked again. Every few days I would continue operations check it, the light hasn't died or drained any batteries yet!
Pros:
- Lightweight
- compact
- Easy to install
Best Used for:
- concealed carry
- Self defense
- Home Defense

Excellent quality, Excellent light output, fits perfectly on a Glock 19 and conceals as if it is not even there. Works great with the NSR tactical holster. Buttons are intuitive and light quality is the best I have seen.
Pros:
- bright
- solid
- Small
- Concealable

It fits perfectly and 200 lumens is more than enough for self defense distance. Highly recommend the surefire xc1 and optics planet. I bought it on a Sunday and it shipped the next day. Great customer service!!
