Quick Fix for scratch prevention.
Lots of chatter on scratching, when the metal hits the meat the red dot it all you need to see, HOWEVER... I get not wanting a lot of scratches, Iām OCD on that point! Go to 5 Below or similar store and buy a cheap phone screen protector (not glass) trim to fit and apply. Problem solved!

Horrible customer service
I put a RMSc 4MOA dot on my Sig P365 and only after about 800 rounds the lenses began to crack inside the housing simply from recoil. I never dropped or used the frame to rack the slide like some people do. I sent the optic in for warranty repair back in September and I still have not received my si...

optics break easy. Customer service nonexistent
I purchased a Shield RMSc glass lense. I glass lense shattered the first week I owned it. The frame of the lense took a very light blow and it completely shattered the lense. I attempted to contact Shield for repair but there customer service is non existent. After several days and countless hours I finally got a response by email after contacting the president of the company. I mailed out this shield site and it took almost 2 months to received a replacement after paying an addition $100. Worst experience dealing with this company. There product is fragile junk. Not worth the aggravation.

G48 mos easy install.
Purchased the RMSc 4 MOA with glass for my G48 mos. Easy install, came with all the mounting parts needed. I found the 4 plastic washers needed to mount to the G48 questionable material vs. metal, but were necessary due to the screw length (main reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars). Also, there were no instructions regarding the plastic washers. Two washers are need for each mounting screw. I figured out they were needed by trial and error. I hope they hold up over time as there were not any extras. The model I purchased does have a side load battery drawer so I'm hoping that mitigates any wear and tear on the plastic washers as I won't need to remove the sight to change the battery. Appears to be able to be co-witnessed with the iron night sights (I replaced the standard Glock sights). āGiving it a try at the range tomorrow.
Pros:
- Easy install, side-load battery tray.
Cons:
- Plastic washers without instructions.
Best Used for:
- G48 mos.

Lens/ customer service
I got the RSMc when the hellcat first came out and at first it was amazing. I thought I just cracked the lens myself, so I purchased another one and made sure I was careful. The 2nd one cracked also, turns out the recoil from shooting about 250 to 300 rounds makes the lens weak and cracks. The lens is the only part of the optic not covered under warranty so you have to pay 90 USD to send it back to the UK and wait countless months before even getting customer service to replace or "fix".

Great sight, easy to zero, holds zero, I just need a different platform to enjoy it
The sight itself is great. I've read reviews against the adjustment increments, that they don't provide enough feedback and are not in 1 MOA increments, but with the disc provided to assist in adjustments, I was able to zero it in 12 rounds (4-by-3). I chose the 8 MOA for quick target acquisition as this was for my bedside home defense pistol.
I chose this for my P320 X-Compact 9mm, but that wasn't the best decision on my part. Yes, the RMSc direct mounts to the x-compact, but it does not adequately fill the machined footprint. It does adequately cover loaded chamber indicator and allows it to function properly. But, the RMSc is too small for the x-compact. It doesn't cover the holes from the removed sight-plate screws, and I don't want anything getting inside the slide to the extractor spring pin. I do not recommend the RMSc sight for the P320 x-compact platform. I now have a great excuse for a second Hellcat, but an OSP this time as the RMSc mates perfectly with that platform.
The 8 MOA, zeroed in, allowed me to keep a 2" grouping at 15 yards. I'm a novice and this is a 3.6" barrel pistol, so I'm happy with that accuracy, especially for that gun's intent (I've since replaced with a Sig Romeo1 Pro 6 MOA with identical results). Hopefully I will see similar results with the RMSc on a Hellcat, even with a shorter barrel.

rms sight plate
Just bought a grand power x trim plus fitted with a shield rms sight . Unfortunatly the gun was fireing high to the point of aim. I phoned shield and explained the problem and they told me they would send me a correction plate . It arrived the next day . If this is shields usual customer service , i take my hat off to them . they are very good on the phone as well , but it does get busy so you might have to try a couple of times . all in all , great thank you for being so prompt at sending my plate out and free of charge as well , did not even charge for postage . Thank you all very much . jon .

Lenses have new coating as of JAN 2019!! I've been shooting mine for almost a year with no scratch!
Is this a go-to-war bomb-proof optic? No.
Will this work great for 99.9% of Concealed Carriers? Yes.
I find that the fact that it is so low makes me much faster with it than my Holosun 508T or RMR.
The fact that the window has NO tint and NO distortion (unlike the Holosun and RMR) means it's much easier to see darker targets on dark backgrounds and smaller, darker targets in any kind of non-optimal lighting condition.
--
From what I understand, the ones prior to JAN 2019 scratched pretty easily (though Shield will replace the plastic for you for like $75, and now they offer glass too). Scratching was my biggest worry when I got mine here. However, after almost a year of shooting it on 2 guns, with at least 1K rounds, there's not a mark on it. I was anal about cleaning it after the first two trips to the range, but have since gotten to where I just blow it off with compressed air. I only wiped it down by rolling cotton-swabs and electric wd40 every few hundred rounds or few months carrying it now.

Better options available
Easy to zero. Mounts nicely on my G19 Gen5. Just don't sneeze on it... or touch it... or clean it with a cloth or lens pen specifically designed for optic glass, or you will scratch it. I love the low mounting profile and "always on" automatic intensity feature. I've had it for over a year on the same battery. I have not used the pistol it is mounted on for carry, or subjected it to anything that can even remotely be called "rough" use. It goes to the range, gets cleaned, and goes back in the safe. The durability is simply not on par with other options available at or below the price point. Shield will replace the glass for around $100, but I will likely just put that hundred bucks towards a Trijicon and be done with it.
