Most Helpful Positive Review b square mounting
this product is great. the only thing i saw wrong is where the mount goes on each side of the receiver there is noting to protect the gun from getting stratches. if B-Square would inculde some padding to place inside the mount it would be perfect. Pros: easy to install Cons: no padding
Most Helpful Negative Review Disappointing
The saddle mount I got had apparently been used and returned. It had been scratched and the scratches had been inked over with a marker which rubbed off when handled. Installing mount WILL scratch the receiver of your gun. Also, not a true black in color, does not match Mossberg shotgun. Pros: It's ...

Shotgun Saddle Mount

by Brian B, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on March 29, 2020
Actually bought this to fit a Winchester SX4 to mount a turkey scope. Sits a little high so I added a cheek riser. Haven't shot with it yet but OpticsPlanet shipping was super fast and the price was right.

Some assembly required

by Gunner, from IL, United States Written on June 2, 2017
This mount did not fit tightly after installation. I had to use an over sized washer on the left side receiver screw to keep the mount from moving. The slot on the mount was too wide and allowed the mount to move until I installed the washer.

B-Square shotgun saddle mount

by flip, from OH, United States Written on February 12, 2017
B-square builds quality products, I have an older version of this on another gun and it works great. Holds scope solid and mounts easily. This model is better because it has option of mounting scope for whatever eye relief you need. Very good product.
Pros:
  • very basic and easy
Cons:
  • None

Easy to mount on Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge.

by Papa Bear, from OH, United States Written on November 30, 2016
I bought this product for a cheap Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge shotgun. I like this product for several reasons. First, this mount appears to be made to precise standards. It fits the shotgun receiver perfectly. Second, it is made out of aluminum. I like this for the Maverick 88 because the shotgun receiver is also aluminum. So, the mount will not mar or scratch the receiver. Third, it is light weight and does not encumber the weapon. Fourth, it was very easy to install. I added a couple drops of thread locker to the screws just to keep everything tight. The rings that came with the mount are quality and acceptable but I used a set of my preferred ones anyway. All in all, I like and recommend this product. I purchased the cheap Mossberg Maverick 88 to have an extra light weight shotgun. The mount works well on it. It is light and does not encumber the gun.
Pros:
  • light weight
  • Quality construction
Cons:
  • rings are not necessary, offer without rings for lower price.
Best Used for:
  • Mossberg Maverick 88

Works Great

by Rick Dahl, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on May 7, 2016
Mount worked perfect. Easy to install. It did mark up the paint on the receiver some. Don't know if it would mar up a blued gun but I would think so. I think I would put electrical tape or some other barrier to protect the receiver from marking if marring is a concern.

Do not order for modern Browning A5s

by Southern Boy, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 7, 2016
The mounting screws are too large for use on modern A5 models (those that use the Invector plus choke tubes). I am sure that it works great on older models, but there are currently no mounts being manufactured that will work on the newer models.

Super shotgun mount for undrilled/tapped models

by tfb2020, Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on October 26, 2015
I have a Mossberg 500A shotgun that was made back in 1969, it came without a drilled and tapped receiver and I did not want to alter the gun by having a gunsmith perform the work, but my eyes are not as keen as they were but a scope would solve that small problem, I researched the web and found this mount custom made for my gun. Needless to say it fits great, look good and holds the scope very well.
I highly recommend this product.
