Get a different product Field view is too small and does not allow for good target acquisition get it advice from another company

The thermal was a great concept, however I could not get the clarity I was looking for. I had trouble identifying small animals at 30 yards. For a starter optic this would be great, but for a more advanced user it is hard to step back to that clarity.

I was looking for a thermal for a Colt 6920. I wanted something with more eye relief like a reflex sight as opposed to a "rifle scope". I ordered a different product initially, but it had eye relief issues, a mouse print screen menu, cryptic instructions and questionable quality control (the impact point was way off center indicating the sensor or base were misaligned etc. It just seemed to be a cobbled together product that actually cost a lot more money. I returned that product and decided to skip that vendor).

I picked up the Echo3 which was cheaper by several hundred dollars. The one button function/menu options are so much easier than the other product (searching through mouse print menus on the screen). It's easy and intuitive to change zoom settings, reticle selection or color palate. The eye relief is what I was looking for, more of a reflex sight without needing reading glasses. The 30 mhz refresh rate is not an issue for my uses, (targets 50-100 yards. As another reviewer said, you're not going to 'clear a room' with it. It's powered by two CR123's (as opposed to a rechargeable battery the other unit had). For me, this is a plus as replacement CR123's are easy to come by where an AC source for the charger may not. For me it is easier to have a few extra throw away batteries than have to recharge. As far as fit and finish, no issues. Weight and size are similar to my Eotech. I don’t know a lot about thermal optics. This is my first one. I haven’t done a lot of shooting with it, but it is very cool! It has been a lot of fun testing out and playing with it a little bit. Seems to be great from what I can tell.

This scope is pretty decent considering how small it is. I like how I can attach it to my scope rings and sight it in with my day time scope. Super convenient. Just aim your day time reticle at something and then zero in your thermal to that same mark. No shots required. I actually managed to shoot a raccoon from 100yrds after sighting it in like that. I look forward to trying it out coyote hunting. The zoom makes the picture quality garbage. I wish I would have spent a couple k more and got a pulsar. I think I will be able to manage to shoot coyote from 200 yards max. I’ll be hesitant to shoot past that due to the poor picture quality when zooming in. 0-200 yards, this scope is badass. I have had success with a sight mark wraith and sniper hog IR light from 300 yards. Can’t do that with this one. Might be a domestic dog. I did pick up heat image from cows that were at least 1,000-2,000 yards away. Battery life is about 5 hours if you’re using it a lot. If Sig will make the zoom quality better, it will make this scope better than most. Huge screen makes it where you can set it towards the middle of rail just make sure you turn the brightness down cause you’ll light up the whole field.
