Most Helpful Positive Review A step above.
The SIG SAUER ROMEO5 GEN II Elite is a step above the standard Romeo 5. The balistic quad dot is basically the only change, but having reference dots for shooting at ranges beyond your 100 yard zero is a nice feature. Is it worth an additional $100? Only range time will tell. I acquired this sight t...

Most Helpful Negative Review Arrived Damaged
New out of box I removed 4 mounting screws so I could install on a Unity Tactical Mount and the threads had tons of grey power coming out of them and are STRIPPED. So they were clearly severally damaged during manufacturing as they are manufactured IN CHINA!!!! I tried to immediately return, but Op...

Hands down - best red dot for the price.

by GreyKnight, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on June 7, 2026
In my opinion and experience this is the best red-dot for even 2x the price.
Fantastic for a multi role Carbine, SBR or PCC.
I've run these with HOT 5.56, 300BO, 9mm, 10mm and even 12GA - they hold zero and are easily tough enough for duty work. (These have passed testing and have recently been added to our approved optics list!)
The multi recital system is great for mid range work and ranging shots 200y and beyond.
Glass is nice and clear with no noticeable distortion, works great with 3x, 4x and 5x magnifiers and its overall construction is rock solid.

YES there are not made in the USA but if you are on a budget and cannot swing for a Romeo 4T this is an outstanding option.
Please don't put Amazon budget optics on anything you would possibly use in a active defense or duty role! That said, I have no issue trusting this with my life. Its good to go.
Pros:
  • Price Construction
  • Excellent quality & reliability
Cons:
  • prefer dial over button adjustments
Best Used for:
  • general / home defense / sport use

Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Gen 2 Elite

by johnchip, Verified Owner from CT, United States Written on April 18, 2026
I own the 1.42" and 1.93" versions of this Romoe 5 Gen 2 Elite and I have them on my 300 blackout builds. I replaced the I-Beam mounts with Scalarworks LEAP 01 mounts and they look and work great. They have bullet drop reticles for holds and your standard reticles like a dot and circle dot. You need a magnifier to really take advantage of the advanced restrictions to their fullest due to the small window size but that's ok. Honestly for the price you get a lot of great features even if you don't swap the mount. I would like to address the one star review that someone left before I finish up. The grey powder you see when you unscrew your mount on the screws is factory applied thread locker and doesn't mean your screws are stripped nor are the screw holes damaged. it's just dried up thread locker and nothing to get worried about. I own at least 15 Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Gen 2s and I've never had any issues mounting them to Unity or Scalarworks mounts. This is a solid budget optic hence why I have so many. I highly recommend the elite version of non elite version if you are looking for a solid budget optic.

Excellent Improvement Over Gen I

by KP, from OH, United States Written on February 19, 2025
I had the original Gen I a few years back and it had issues. You can swap between different reticles with ease and its a very crisp sight picture. I put one on my Flux Raider build and could not be happier with how it turned out. For those wondering, it DOES also come with the low/flush picatinny mount, in addition to the 1.41" pictured. I used the low mount on my Flux and it's perfect.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Quality
  • Reticle and clarity
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Flux Raider
