My Dad gave me my first single-shot Remington .22 rifle when I was eleven (66 years ago) and I've run the gamut: hunting, rifle and pistol competition (rifle and pistol Silhouette, IPSIC, Steel Challenge) gunsmithing, long range rifle, Quigley, Sporting Clays, instructing across all disciplines.
I tell you that to tell you this: Over the past six and-a-half decades, technology has changed -- no, metamorphosed -- all the games.
There was a time when I did financially well bedding wood-stock rifles. No longer.
There was a time when we called each other's long mountain shots based on guesstima...

This scope is unbeatable for the price. I have an SIII and a few other high end scopes. This is not quite as bright as they are but not by much. I noticed no fisheye at any magnification, parallax and power adjustments are nice and smooth. The folding lever on the magnification is a nice touch. The windage and elevation clicks are nice and positive, as positive as my SII but not Nightforce positive. I have it on my varminter 223 AR and I just got back from a prairie dog trip. Dialing in for 250-300 yard shots and returned to 100 yard zero every time with no deviation. Only minor con is that the eye box is a little smaller than the SIIs and the Nightforces. I am comparing this scope with ones costing 2 or 3 times as much because I haven't found anything better in its price class. This scope easily beats most scopes costing twice as much in ergonomics and optical quality. Can not recommend this one highly enough.
Pros:
sharp reticle
Bright glass
Positive audible turret positioning
Cons:
Small eye box
Best Used for:
varmint and long distance target shooting
Long & mid range hunting
Would recommend: Yes

Scopes in any color other than black are rare. This scope in this color was only available at OpticsPlanet. I have used the SIII series from Sightron, and they are excellent scopes for the price. I have not had extensive time to find the full range of capabilities for this scope, but that would warrant a magazine article in terms of a write up. My comparisons of Sightron products are based on other scopes I own such as: Nightforce, Leupold Mark IV, Burris Extreme, and the higher end Bushnell optics. The optical quality of Sightron glass tends to be very good, and their customer service is responsive if you have a problem.

Out of the scopes I use for long range shooting, I favor my S-TACS the most. Glass is far beyond what you would expect at this price. I like the color variation since it lets me stray away from the all solid black, but at the same time isn't some obnoxious bright color either. Plus it is cheaper than a Vortex.
Pros:
trusted brand
zoom lever
high quality glass
Not made in China
Cons:
Only one Reticle option
This Black/Grey is the only variation
Best Used for:
shooting
rifle
Long range / tactical scopes
Would recommend: Yes
