Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker Kit Knife Sharpening System
I have more knives then the average person I know. And like most people who use knives routinely, I have several knife sharpening tools from flat stones on up, all these work but are not as fast and easy to use as the Spyderco sharpener. Great product. Sharpened 10 knifes in a week. Sharpest these knifes have been since I bought them. Even serrated knifes.

I took this system on two deployments to the middle east during the GWOT. Not only did I keep my knives razor sharp at all times, I was also able to keep the ceramic sticks from being damaged due to how the product was designed. I did wrap the system in some Tshirts during transits however. Recently, I had a need to sharpen up some kitchen knives and started looking up sharpeners on youtube. Video after video had me circling back to what I knew worked so I placed the order. After using it for a week, I found that it still amazes me to this day. I highly recommend this product.

Compact and easy to use.
Great piece of kit. There was a learning curve to using it, so maybe use a knife you don't care too much about first (like a kitchen knife). Good, clear instructions. Beats having to drop a knife off to have it sharpened. I was able to get my spyderco knife ridiculously sharp using this sharpener. Stones are washable, so that's great too. Rating 4 instead of 5 stars only because it'd be nice if it came with ultra fine stones in the package (it comes with a set of medium and set of fine ones). Ultra fine can be picked up separately and they're just a "nice have" and not a necessity. I'd buy again.

Great Product for the Money
I’ve had a Sharpmaker for years. It a reliable, easy way to Sharpen Knives (Especially Higher End ones) at home. It does take a little technique, but with a little practice, you can have a Hair Popping Blade Edge. It works with any Steel (VG10- S45-M4 and S110). That said, It’s under $100, so if you are a true edge freak, it’s not going to perform like a system 6 or 7 times it’s cost. You may find it difficult to sharpen slimmer Hunting and Cleaning Knives with Edges less than 30 Degrees as it only has 30 and 40 degrees positions… Just keep that in mind. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend it!

As advertised
I am not a professional knife sharpener. This Sharpmaker does the job if you follow the instructions. I tried to do a quick sharpen with less passes on the stones than the suggested amount and did not see the full results until I did the recommended amount of passes. I own a few knives that are made of different steel and that also makes a difference on how many passes you need. I also purchased the ultra fine grit I don’t know if I needed them, but with how fast the sharpening goes I felt I needed to do more. My knives are as sharp if not sharper than when I first bought them.

- Learning curve. Need to be gental when placing stones, so not to damage the set angle in the plastic base. Pricey for what you get.
- Need to be careful when inserting the stones in to the plastic base to not damage the preset angle.

Easy to use
This sharpner is easy to use and very effective if you watch the instruction video.lm going to get the ultra fine stones for my better knives.I like to strap the blade after using the sharpner.You can buy extra and replacement stones as well. This is a nice advantage to buying the sharpmaker.I do wish they would sell the brass safety rods.I misplaced one on an older set I keep at the farm.

This product is easy to use and does the job. I like things simple and there is not much to go wrong with this product. I also like that it is small enough to pack up and take with you when you travel.
