I received my pistol safe, assembled the interior shelves as I wanted and realized that the door hinge is very loose. All three ribbets/screws, what ever they are, are loose and i have no way of tightening them. The door is so loose and out of alignment because of the loose hinge it is very troublesome to close and lock. I'm very disappointed in this product.

The cabinet is somewhat expensive, but is very sturdy with a reasonably secure locking system. The shelves are plastic and can only be installed in pre-drilled holes. I purchased this cabinet to store boxed ammo. You have to be careful as to how much weight you put on the shelves as they will bow if too much weight is placed on the shelves.

I rearranged my ammo to place the heaviest concentration of weight on the bottom of the cabinet and tried to spread out the weight of the rest of the ammo as much as possible and still experienced some slight bowing of the plastic shelves. I added a support in under the bowing shelf.

I would recommend steel shelves instead of plastic one to eliminate this issue. Also, it would be nice if the shelve were adjustable.

If I did not experience the problem of the weight limited shelves I would have given this cabinet 5 stars.

My unit arrived with 1/2 of the door not fastened to the cabinet. The hinged door is fastened to the cabinet with cheap pop rivets. My top rivet was NOT connected to the hinged door. There is a third middle fastener hole in the door/cabinet. Rather than deal with packaging and shipping for a return for a slightly less jenky rivet, I sheered off both rivets with a flat head and hammer. I then used 3 M5 hex bolts with wingnuts and red loctite. It is fairly thing sheet metal so it's easily cut through. It is disappointing that Stack On doesn't use better materials since the cost would be negligible, or at least better Quality Control.

This stacks nicely on top of the 18-gun, Stack-On gun safe, for space efficiency. The movable shelves are nice to be able to format it for your personal needs. While it can be a little dark inside, it was easy to find on-line some magnetic, rechargeable, motion sensing lights to brighten things up a bit. It is decent quality for the price.

Bought as I live in an apartment, on the second floor, so I couldn't get a several hundred pound safe up here to use, nor could I risk a lighter case that has a reputation for dents and gashes during delivery. This is a great fix for now, allowing me to store my ammo and half of my rifle, rendering the other half (if it is stolen) unusable. If I remove the top shelf, I can store both my upper and lower inside it. The safe also arrived with minimal damage to the box, if I recall correctly, and the safe itself was perfectly fine and easy to install the shelves in; it also appears to have many mounting holes for mounting to the ceiling, back, side, and floor, but obviously, being in an apartment, I haven't been able to test how it holds up to being screwed into place.

So, in short, it is a great Pistol/Ammo Case that suits my needs.

The cabinet is not fireproof and can be pried open by those determined enough. For the price and my needs its just fine. I do wish they made this larger to be the same length and width as thier full sized cabinets. The holes matched up with the ones on my existing cabinet and it was easy to bolt ot on with provided hardware. Like others have said the shelf is plastic. I only used one of them.

Bought as it looked to be big enough to hold my ammo, which it is, but I have also found a service that allows me to buy ammo and have them store it in a controlled warehouse, so likely don't need to worry much about it. Felt it was better to hide my rifle while I was out of the house, and lock my ammo away in a safe; I didn't have the money or load support on the second floor for a rifle sized safe, at least one with a keyed, non-electric entry. I did notice my rifle almost fit in it while field stripped, so if you really don't need or use the rifle for self defense, it would be perfect for rendering unusable for any thieves that steal it.

Seems durable enough to keep people out without tools, but is light enough to pick up and throw a good 10 feet or so, and I am about average strength. Still, despite being light, it didn't come in too damaged, which was a big concern from other buyers with reports of huge dents, gashes, or even tears in the metal.

Impressed by the size and quality of this and will likely order a second one. Easy to install shelving and it hold a fair amount. My second one will skip the shelves to allow better access.

No, it's not a full-on safe or a biometric bedside defender. But for what it is, and for what I need, it's perfect.

I live in a small town with little crime and just need to keep my handguns away from my toddler granddaughter. This Stack-On works great for that. I can fit about ten normal-size handguns on the shelves (which are perfectly fine and sturdy), or a mix of guns and ammo. The unit is small enough to fit easily under the printer stand in my home office. The lock works smoothly and secures tightly, and the unit arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

This was an excellent purchase and I recommend it for those who don't need a big heavy safe.
