Mag release is well made works ok but I found it wasn’t needed. Not hating on the product so much, it’s just a little gimmicky. With proper training it’s not needed. Spend your money somewhere else.

It's a pretty easy upgrade. That being said, it does have a break in period and some adjustment necessary. On the one I installed, it wanted to hang up. When you pressed it to release the mag, it didn't want to reset. It required some adjustment to get it to work smoothly. And once I started shooting the rifle and using it, it did get smoother.
Pros:
- It does work as advertised and it is more convenient for a left handed shooter
Cons:
- Requires some adjustment and fine tuning.
Best Used for:
- Good option for the left handed shooter

I installed this in my completed AR-10 lower. There is no upper yet, so this has not been put thru any real action. Therefore my comments below could be considered premature. This is a super-cool device that lets a left handed shooter very easily drop the mag with the left index finger. My concern, and the reason for the 4 stars, is that it’s VERY easy to drop the mag with just a slight touch. There’s no spring push-back like you feel when pushing the button on the right side of the mag well. It directly releases the mag. If the rifle is accidentally bumped on the left side, I can see the mag dropping out. And because it’s so close to the bolt catch, I can already see myself dropping the mag when all I want to do is lock the bolt back. Especially with gloves in cold weather. This would seem to require gloveless very fine motor skills, and does not seem clunky enough to withstand gloves and inexact finger placement, or any type of ‘bumping around’ in its intended use. Time will tell.

I have this installed on two rifles and it is holding the mags perfectly. Don't listen to the ones who say it is dropping the mags, it wont hold any mags etc. It is releasing them just fine aswell. From both sides. I am using it with an Odin Gen 3 extended mag release button aswell. If you have the Bad lever; this will work just fine with it aswell.

This ambidextrous magazine release is terrible. The spring tension is too light. The mag will fall out after about five rounds. Last time I was at the range I had to wedge some cardboard from my ammo boxes under the ambi-release to keep the magazine from falling out. Do not buy this product!!!

Easy to install, good aesthetic, and functional. This is a must have upgrade for those running a brass catcher on their AR because it makes magazine changes much easier! Additionally, those with small hands will love this because they don’t have to break their grip with their firing hand to change magazines.
The only drawback to using this is that manipulating the OEM bolt catch/bolt release paddle will likely cause accidental actuation of the mag catch. I recommend upgrading the bolt catch paddle to an extended version, which Strike Industries also makes.
