Most Helpful Positive Review Nice upgrade!
Smooth, yet tactile feel and operation. I like the feel better than the stock magazine release. It is really easy to install and I like the fact that it comes with a srpung as well. Strike industries makes some quality products.
Most Helpful Negative Review This didn't work in two Sig grips.
Simple installation. However, it hung up on the rear edge of the mag release slot. I had to push it forward slightly before pressing in or it would not press in. I had same result on a P365 & P365X grip. After it wouldn't work, I watched Sig Guy installation video to confirm that I installed it ...

Not a good fit

by Wylde man, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on October 29, 2025
Very easy installation, but it just did not fit well in any of my P365 grips in my case.

It was very difficult to push in unless you pushed in and towards the front of the pistol. If I pushed the mag release perpendicular to the grip it would function at all. At times it would slightly catch when pushing the release button, even if pressing in and towards the front of the pistol as mentioned before.

When inserting a new magazine into the grip with the Strike Industries mag release in place it would catch on the opposite side of the mag release button (I'm righthanded so in my case on the left side of the inside of the grip). I could insert a magazine without hitting it if I slowly pushed it in with the magazine completely inline with the grip (if it was slightly canted at all it would catch). I could never install this in a carry pistol and as the fit and function are not optimal at all, and when looking at the high cost (23 dollars for a small part), you would be much better off spending your money elsewhere in my opinion.

I had this same issue tying to install in my factory XL grip as the Mirzon aftermarket grip, so it was an issue with a defective part, not the grip module itself (I also installed factory magazine releases in both grips with zero issues with fit or function).
Pros:
  • easy installation
Cons:
  • cost
  • Did not function as intended
  • Did not work in either of my grip modules
Best Used for:
  • Would never recommend this product

Easy Install (With Tips)

by Tom, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on December 4, 2024
This magazine release will not fit P365 Macro, Legion, or Fuse grip assemblies.
I was converting over my P365XL to a Wilson Combat Grip and lost the original magazine catch spring. It's easy to lose and not an easy item to replace. It is debatable at $7 plus shipping if you can find one. I bought the Strike Industries Magazine Release instead. Read all instructions before beginning:
(1) Work on a white or very light-colored surface
(2) Remove slide/barrel assembly and FCU before starting. (It is quick and makes the installation much more straightforward.)
(3) Do not touch the packaged spring until Step 4!
(4) Based on left-handed or right-handed, you will insert the magazine release from the opposite side of the grip assembly.
(5) Place the magazine release in the grip assembly to verify orientation. You may need to put your index finger in the mag well to help guide it.
(6) Having verified the magazine is correctly aligned, back the release out while keeping a finger in the mag well to maintain alignment to place the spring in the concave groove behind the release button (shown on the right side in the product image).
(7) Press the magazine release button until the release is completely seated, maintaining pressure against the spring. (6) Slide magazine release stop on the end of the magazine release to capture and hold it in place.
(8) Slowly ease off on the release button to ensure the release is captured.
(9) Press release several times to verify that the...

Works great

It works great. I was having trouble with the magazine release button due to its size. I purchased and installed this new one and now have no issues. Just a heads up you might want to get the punch that fits into the hole for ease of replacement.
Pros:
  • Works as intended. Good quality material.

Longer than average

by Mayo, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on April 21, 2024
I bought a Wilson Combat frame for my Sig 365XL. Recommend. However, I wanted the mag release button to be a little longer. (Story of my life. I have a thick palm but short sausage fingers) I bought this Strike Industries mag release for just that reason. It goes in easy, looks good with the WC frame, and it is a smidge longer to help with release. Personally, I would like it to be a little longer but that's just me. The quality for the price for the product is first rate.

Subtle difference

by BigRawn, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on April 13, 2024
Used in the Sharps Bros P365 Grip module. Installation was normal and fit and finish is excellent. It gives my thumb just enough extra bump out to easily drop magazines more comfortably with the wider Sharps Bros P365 Grip module.
Pros:
  • Fit and finish
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • P365 Grip modules for a slight bump out, without a full extended release

New build 365 X macro Mag release

by John McClane, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on December 5, 2023
I decided to build my next sig from parts. I have a number of other Strike Industries Parts for my Ar's all of which work perfect and seem to be slightly lighter the other aftermarket products.

So I was easy to pick the SI mag release and fits and works perfect
Pros:
  • Cheaper than OEM
  • Looks better than OEM
Cons:
  • None
