Surefire G2ZX Combatlight
As over 80% of criminal confrontations occur under reduced lighting conditions, you need a good light as part of your defensive package. Surefire makes many; their G2ZX is a very good choice. Its collar allows it to be used with the Rogers/Cigar/Syringe/Sure-Fire technique. The included strap is long for my technique, but you determine and practice what works best for you. Do not wrap it around your wrist; make sure you can slip your finger of thumb out of any loop. The center hot spot is very adequate and the corona gives good edge illumination. I choose both Surefire and Optics Planet f...

What can I say, it’s a SureFire light. I’ve been running SureFire lights since inception. You get what you pay for. Innovative, high quality, durable, reliable, exceeds all others. Employ as EDC, full or partial kit. You don’t need multiple lights when it comes to SureFire.

Wow This is Outstanding
This could be an old design, but its new to me. If one doesn't want the light afixed to the tool (brandishing), this is an old school solution. The boot that gets in between my left pointer and middle finger - I have no words. One can fight with this light. Yes Surefire is pricey, but its really well made, and best quality.

A good EDC tactical light that is easy to shoot with.
My pistol does not have a rail to mount a light under the barrel. To be honest I prefer not always having the business end of my firearm pointed everywhere I want to look in the dark. It is better to not have to threaten innocents during ID checks for instance. But using this light I am ready at a moment’s notice to also use it as a weapon light.
I use this light in the Rogers grip most of the time. This is what it was designed for. It is a solid two hand grip on the firearm and is easy to shoot with. But I always have the option to shift it to the Harris, FBI or neck index techniques if needed. I use a lanyard around my wrist if I have time. That way I can just drop the light during reloads and require it easily.
The light I got was 600 lumens. It is bright enough to blind but is not so bright that it kills my own night vision totally. The pattern has enough side bleed to clear rooms without blind spots. The batteries only last about an hour and a half of constant use. So I save the batteries I have used for training and always put in fresh to carry.
There are only two cons that I can think of and they don’t have anything to do with the flashlight itself. When I bought my flashlight Surefire didn’t have a holster that fit it properly. And the lanyard they sent with it was almost long enough to go around my neck. I got a shorter one from another manufacturer.
The light is tough, bright and easy to use. I’m glad I got it.

comments regarding recommended holster
The V70 series belt holster for this light will not accept Ranger belts...ONLY flat belts. Be prepared to wear light holster maybe not with your favorite gun/light belt. Now I must decide to return the holster or go out & purchase a flat belt.
Pros:
- light appears OK but overpriced
Cons:
- holster recommended not good
Best Used for:
- will work for self protection

Surefire G2ZX Combatlight
A very good light. My only disappointment is the tail cap is not a ”clicky” type. You must rotate the tail cap enough to have momentary light and rotate it all the way for constant light. I thought Surefire did away with that style a long time ago. It would be a great light if it had the “clicky” tail cap.
Pros:
- Good design and it is bright
Cons:
- Does not have a clicky style tail cap.
Best Used for:
- Best used to light up darks places; yep!

G2ZX COMBATLIGHT
I LIKE THE SMALL SIZE AND THE WEIGHT. ANY WEIGHT SAVINGS YOU CAN HAVE ON A DUTY BELT IS A GOOD THING. THE BRIGHTNESS IS GOOD, ESPECIALLY FOR IT'S SMALL SIZE. IT RUNS LITHIUM BATTERIES, WHICH ARE ON THE EXPENSIVE SIDE, BUT HAVEN'T HAD ANY BATTERY LIFE ISSUES.

Good kit all the time
One is none two is one three is better four is just right....good kit goes with my other Surefire and streamlight lights just fine works..works well works when I need it..it works period...I used this light as a back up at first then as a primary and now as an addendum to others and added it to my permanent battery of duty carry and tactical lights.
Pros:
- easy to engage
Cons:
- None...yet
Best Used for:
- work and home

Surefire G2ZX Cobatlight
Bought for wife's handbag. It is very bright and should easily do the trick. It is on off only with no varying power levels which is much easier to use in a stressful situation. Came with one battery and I have a number of extras so that I can always be sure to have full power available.
Pros:
- Simple to use
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- emergencies

Great flashlight
I am very happy with this light. I purchased this light with the intention of eventually using it for low-light shooting. I previously had the p2x fury, which was a great light, but a bit overwhelming for indoor use. The output on this light is still very high, but low enough that you might not blind yourself indoors (plus it has a longer run time to boot).
The polymer body seems very durable, has a nice feel, and feels a bit lighter than the aluminum-bodied versions (because it is).
I also like the grip ring on the light. I haven't shot with a flashlight before, but actuating the light one-handed using the Surefire technique feels pretty natural. At the very least, the grip ring is nice for using the light when you don't have an "icepick" grip on the light. Also, it helps keep the light from sliding out the pocket if that's how you carry.
The tailcap spring was a lot harder to actuate than I expected. The tailcap spring is stiffer than in the p2x fury and the foursevens quark tactical; however, there is also less travel in the switch. This is probably to help prevent light NDs. For this reason I found it difficult sometimes to actuate the light using the Surefire technique. Given, I do not have a very strong grip and my hands are pretty bony. To fix this, I tightened the tailcap to reduce the distance between the contacts while still not being in constant-on mode. This helped a lot, and I do not consider this to be a problem for me now.
