Swampfox vs Athlon
After purchasing a Swampfox Kentucky Long and a Athlon Argos BTR Gen 2 and comparing them side by side the Swampfox has the advantage. The eye relief of the Swamp for at 4 power and 24 power is much better then the Athlon. The locking function of the Swampfox turrets gives it the upper hand if you...

Mixed feelings
The optic itself is great and picture quality is awesome. Only thing that I didn't like is the windage turret won't stay locked down. After a few rounds I noticed the turret was in the up unlocked position. I pushed it back down and sent a couple more rounds. I checked again and it was up again. I e...

Good value
The turrets are really done well, maybe the best I've seen. The overall quality is close to Athlon and the glass is about the same as Athlon as well. I prefer Athlon's reticle but this one is perfectly fine, and appears to be the same as Arken. I believe there is a relationship with Swampfox and Arken. A lot of similarities. I am very happy to see a 4-24 power instead of the regular 5-25. I hope we see more low power variations like a 2-16 or 2.5-20. Keep up the good work Swampfox and don't let this review go to your head. Keep the prices right. It's not overly heavy but I bet they could make it a little lighter, this would be a bonus and they could save aluminum. (;
Pros:
- Turrets
Cons:
- Needs off between illumination settings
Best Used for:
- everything

new scope best bang for the buck
I was in the market for a new scope I was looking hard at a couple different ones coming from a vortex I needed something low power and high power that’s when I found this 4-24 I hunt open fields and then the woods of southern Indiana so it can be kind of thick brush. So far this scope checks off all the boxes for me. I think swampfox as a company is really unrecognized clear glass the parrellax is on point with the yardage.tested myself with a rangefinder. Clicks are smooth but firm. I love the locking turrets. My only complaint is the illumination knob isn’t clear if in between numbers is off. Just worried it isn’t fully off and may kill the battery. It’s comes with caps. Battery sunshade & cloth along with tools

Solid scope
I’ve got this scope mounted on a 6.5 Grendel. The glass is surprisingly clear for the price point. There is no distortion at the edges, and light transmission through the 50mm objective is fantastic at dusk. I’ve been using scopes with rather chunky reticles, and I am very pleased with how fine the stadia are in this one. The inclusion of multiple removable “cattail” zoom levers (that mechanically dovetail into the knurling!) is outstanding. My only complaint is that the clicks are not necessarily as positive as I would prefer, but the other features more than make up for it.
Pros:
- Clarity
- reticle
- Price and warranty
- throw lever attachment
Cons:
- Clicks could be more positive
Best Used for:
- mid and long ranges
