Most Helpful Positive Review A great carrier
Great carrier. Fits well. proper spaced molly webbing. The price is fair but if you want to save a few dollars go for a condor model and be uncomfortable. like the specs say it fits the standard plate sizes. It has Velcro and i got the tan color and it arrived as a tan color. I have used Opticsplan...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not as expected
This is a "newer" so called "improved" version per my conversation with Tactical Assault Gear. It is several inches shorter than the "old version" that you may have seen reviewed elsewhere online. Not recommended if you expect this to go past your belly button. I'm thinking maybe "improved" means...

Very nice plate carrier

by David, from TX, United States Written on September 21, 2017
The tag plate carrier is very well made. The materials and stitching are very high quality so I'm expecting it to last a long time with a lot of use. It is also comfortable, no problems wearing this for hours at a time.

Great vest

by KyOfficer, from KY, United States Written on September 28, 2015
This is a great vest and wears perfect. Only down side is the pockets for the plates are a little small. The plates fit fine just the bottom closure does not go all the way across. It would be perfect if the waist/side had molle webbing. I took a pieice of nylon strap and sewed some on which worked great!

Great plate carrier

by batty, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on March 9, 2015
the Tactical Assault Gear vest plate carrier is a top of the line vest that can carry 12"x10" and 6"x6" rifle plate. it is a nice training vest, not suitable for concealed it is too bulky. it is an ideal vest for training and law enforcement application, it has molly on the front and rear of the vest for adding pockets and holsters. it has padded shoulders, and adjustable side straps that allow generous room for bigger sized applications it comes in great colors also. heavy stitching and a carry handle on the back excellent vest for the money.
Pros:
  • heavy stitching
  • lots of size adjustment
  • fits plates securley
  • padded shoulders
  • accessory customizeablilty
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • tactical training

Multicam TAG Plate Carrier

by Huckleberry, from WI, United States Written on February 11, 2015
Over all pretty impressed with this light weight carrier. Purchased for those bumps in the night and work when it takes me to Chicago (2nd city). Haven't pressed it into hard use yet but appears that it will offer many years of solid performance. Currently running DKX IIIa plates in this carrier. 10x12" fit like a dream front and back. The side armor pockets are a little small (6.5x7") and can only run the 5x7" plates not the 6x8" plates that DKX offers. The Molle webbing isn't multicam. This breaks up the effectiveness of the camo when the carrier is worn alone. Although, after you weave on whatever it is that you'll be carrying with this LBE, you'll never be 100% multicam anyways. Other than that not much to complain about. If your looking for a solidly built light weight carrier in this price range I suggest you take a serious look at the TAG Plate Carrier.
Pros:
  • light weight
  • Adjustable
  • solid construction
  • USA Made
Cons:
  • Webbing not multicam
  • Small side plate pockets
Best Used for:
  • Protecting life and limb
  • Carrying ammo and beer

TAG Plate Carrier Multicam

by Ian, from IL, United States Written on October 27, 2014
Optics Planet had the best price on this item. It was exactly as described- lightweight, well built, plenty of space for mounting, and front and back armor pockets big enough to accommodate XL (11x14") plates or soft armor. I'm 6'5", 210lbs, 33" waist, very tall and lean and it can size down enough to fit me with plenty of room to expand to fit you if you're larger around than I am.
Pros:
  • value
  • Fit
  • color options
  • Quality, lightweight
Cons:
  • None

Excellent Plate Carrier for the price

by Juan Jose Arcos, from MI, United States Written on September 17, 2014
I was looking for a side opening plate carrier that wasn’t big and bulky as the CIRAS and let me tell you the TAG PC is your best option.

The PC is very comfortable and easy to adjust, when you have it set in the right spot it feels like made for your body and on top of that the shoulder pads are even better, a lot of padding so that you don’t feel the weight.

There is a ton of MOLLE real estate for mounting whatever pouch you want. It doesn’t have a “real” cummerbund, but the side flaps are more than enough for you to mount other pouches.

The front and back plate pockets are able to accommodate any plate securely, from small to XL and it won’t move no matter the plate size. I found the side plate pockets not that great, first of, I’ve never heard of the 7’’ x 6.5’’ plate, but that’s me.
Pros:
  • EXTREMELY comfortable
  • A lot of MOLLE space
Cons:
  • Side plate pockets are too little
  • No matching webbing

Terrific Carrier

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on April 23, 2013
Extremely well built and very much like the fact that it is US made. Stitching is top notch and adjusts easily. Only (minor) complaint would be the webbing on the multicam one is tan so it breaks up the camo.
Pros: solid construction, US made
Cons: webbing is not color matched on multicam
