I use the 45 ACP Tipton Snap Caps and couldn't be more pleased. They have a spring loaded primer plate that offers the type of resistance the firing pin will encounter during actual firing. I keep them in both of my 1911's just for protecting the firing mechanisms. They never fail to load from a clip, even in my "finigy" Kimber. I esspecially like using them for training while utilizing my Laserlyte LT-PRO which I purchased from Opticsplanet.com. Snap Caps are great dry fire practice when ammo is expensive and scarce

Optics planet was very friendly and helpful in choosing and ordering snap caps. A low cost alternative to keep your skills high. You can also do tap and rack drills, as well as practing magazine replacement.

Test Firing Caps

The firing caps are well made and they are in my own opinion, the best type of cap to use to dry fire the firearm without any damage to the firing assembly. I have used them in various Firearms and they are holding up without any problems.

These snap caps are excellent for dry fire practice. They fit in magazines, cycle (manually) with no problems and protect the firearm from damage. I've used them on several firearms and they have held up really well.

These are by far the best snap caps on the market!
Very well designed and built, will not fall apart, like other brands, after many uses. These leave no flaky residue in pistol.
Highly visible and distinctive, so no mistaking these for real ammo...

Helpful tool

Very helpful for novice and to practice....I put them at random in a mag with regular ammo and watch how person reacts, fights the recoil etc....
Great to practice trigger pull and handgun control.
Also good if you want to just test a gun and can't go to a range....
