This optic is not for duty use. Outside in full daylight the optic works fine. The dot is well illuminated by the fiber optic by the sun. Indoor use is a different story. The faint reticle works okay in low light, but as soon as you turn on a weapon light the dot is washed out. Also if you are in a low light building and aim outside into a bright environment the reticle will wash out from the bright light. This can be overcome by running lower third cowitness iron sights, but this is not ideal. I expected a little more from a name like Trijicon. I'm sure the sight would work fine for hunting purposes, but I cannot recommend for life/liberty or duty use.
Pros:
- rugged construction
- No batteries required
- Works well in daylight
Cons:
- Very reflective front element.
- Heavy
- Does not work well in low light situations

Another great product from Trijicon. Only red dot with a massive field of vision. The optic is well built. Took it to the range and had it zeroed in just a few rounds. The only drawback is the size of the optic. It is very large compared to other red dots.

So for a $500 optic I expected more out of it. I have a few other trijicon optics that are great, this one...not so great. The main flaw was that the red dot was only readily visible in certain conditions, not something you want on a rifle. Outside in the sun it was fine, look anywhere at a brighter area than where you're at and you'll maybe, with luck, make out the red dot. The tritium is barely bright enough even in a room that's completely dark, it's visible but barely. The other flaw for me was the dot was not a nice, crisp dot...just very misshaped. Seems to be well made to stand up to abuse and trijicon toughness, just not a great optic for everyday/all conditions.
Cons:
- red dot blurry
- Too dim do a dot in some conditions

i planned on getting a meprolight m21, but saw that this bad boy was allegedly comparable and on sale. wish i had handled one in person beforehand. the unit itself is sturdy and sized as advertised, but the reticle is nowhere near as bright/large/visible as i thought it'd be. i have good eyes, but it's still somewhat of a strain to locate and use the tiny amber delta. if this optic is intended for fast target acquisition i feel that it will disappoint. the reticle location is almost an afterthought once you're already aimed.

I purchased the RX34A-51 from Optics Planet. The optic works well enough, though I had to ship mine to Trijicon to have it worked on right away as sitting on a flattop rail the dot was not capable of being zero'd. Once that was do the sight worked well. The issue is that Trijicon does not let you know that if you buy either of the models that come with the flattop mount that you can not use that sight with anything other than the flattop mount. They have a different profile for mounting that sight to the flattop mount. When I sent Trijicon a message asking about it and to try and find a resolution they refused to respond.

night time the reticle washes out with bright light. I'm buying a tritium front sight post for night use to see if that will fix the washout problem. Sturdy product would recommend but for day use only and it sits high on the rifle rail.
Cons:
- not optimal for low light conditions
Best Used for:
- Day time, out door shooting.

I own 4 of these. This is by far the best large format Reflex sight on the market. Pick it up and never think about it. With the Fiber Optic and Tritium reticle, it is ready any time you are. The sight is on all the time and without any trying to line up sights, first shot is much quicker. Only downside is the weird cyclops glowing effect on the business end. This is easily solved with the flashkill screwed into the front end.

I have only had this sight for a few weeks but have been pleased so far. The only negative I have encountered is that the dot can be overpowered by bright light. It shows up well in most conditions but fades out when looking into a very brightly light area. Very fast and easy to use with both eyes open. NO BATTERIES is a huge plus. Good for out to about 100 meters then the size of the dot (mine is a 4.5 MOA) makes precision shot placement difficult. However, it is intended to be a short range sight and it performs extremely well from zero to 100 plus meters. Also, does a great job of allowing you to co-witness your iron sights. In the event that the dot is not visible you can immediately use your iron sights.

This thing is build like a tank!! I love that its always on and requires no batteries. It is a little hard to see the amber dot transitioning between well lit and low light areas, but not terrible. I do wish I had gone with the 6.5 MOA since my old eyes are getting worse but am still happy with this sight as a whole.
Pros:
- well built
- Easy adjustments
- No battery to replace
Cons:
- pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Best Used for:
- sport shooting
- Home Defense/Camping,Self Defense
- Day at the range

It was this or the mro, but I decided to give this a try. I'm glad I did. The dot is smaller than I thought it would be, which was a plus. The back of it is the only drawback, as it looks like a battery compartment, but it's not. That was the reason I chose it over the mro, no electronics to go bad(not that it's a concern with trijicon) and the eye relief is amazing! The mro is like looking through a non magnified acog and its turrets block your view.
It's big, but not too big, even on a full size ar-15 it will look at home, unlike an rmr and is 2x's the size of the mro but looks a little big on a sbr, but that eye relief!!!! It's about the same size of an eotech with the same eye relief, minus the need for batteries.
