Most Helpful Positive Review Great scope. Leave the red dot in the box.
This is a great scope. I received mine about a week ago and got it mounted right away. I could not wait to get to the range to see what this baby could do. Clear optics and the power ring turns easy to adjust from 3-9 power. I also like the 1/4 MOA dials. The only negative comment that I have is the...

Most Helpful Negative Review I don't know if its good or not...
I bought the scope a couple of weeks ago. Looks great and I like the reflex sight on top. When I mounted it and tried to bore-sight it, I realized that the horizontal turret was broken (did not work). I have been a fan of OP for a long time and so said, ooops must be a lemon, I will just exchange it...

I've had this product for 5 years and it has been a great sight for my AR. Has held it's zero and have had no issues.

junk mount

by Troy, from WA, United States Written on July 10, 2020
I was excited to throw some lead down range with this scope as it had apparent great optics and seemed solid. Which it was for the most part. The mount however lasted through maybe 30 rounds before it became loose. The screws on the mount riser were too short and became stripped when I attempted to re-tighten it. Now I have a scope that I can't use at all unless I find someone that works with a CNC machine and can manufacture a new one for me thats actually quality. Bummer that Trinity Force won't take care of the customers that buy their product. Glad I found this out now rather than when needed in a possible actual tactical situation
Pros:
  • good optics clarity
Cons:
  • Horrible mount design

Piece of Junk Mount and Bad Customer Service

by JC262626, from MS, United States Written on June 28, 2019
I bought this for my Smith M&P Sport II. At first I loved it. The sights and coloring were nice and it had decent eye relief. I sighted it in at 50 yards, then moved to shoot at 100 and it was off sight (like not hitting the paper at all off sight) so I just went ahead and re-sighted it for 100. The next day I went to shoot varmint hunting and thankfully didn't see anything. I went to shoot some paper after calling quits for hunting and it wasn't even close to hitting paper. I noticed the optic itself seemed lose from the mount. Came to find out the screws the attach the optic to the mount were junk and holes were stripped. I contacted Optics Planet who directed me to Trinity Force which was fine with me since their warranty was great. Trinity Force directed me to fill out the warranty form so I did. 2 weeks later with no reply, I contacted them again and they said they had nothing showing my warranty form so I filled it out again and the customer service rep said to contact him directly if I did not receive confirmation of the warranty form within 24 hours. I never received confirmation so I contacted him (multiple times). No one from Trinity Force ever replied again so I am stuck with a scope with a mount that can't be removed and out about $130. Optics Planet is great but I would never purchase anything Trinity Force again.
Pros:
  • The optic is actually pretty good.
Cons:
  • customer service is terrible
Best Used for:
  • I would never use this for anything.

Trinity Redcon

by Randy, from TN, United States Written on April 7, 2019
Trinity redcon 1 3-9x42 is a nice compact rifle scope. I like the multi colored reticle. Nice little red dot sight but not as nice as scope. I really like it. Scope is clear and crisp. It looks great on my AR.

Not worth it. The optics are fine but..

by Manuel, from FL, United States Written on April 10, 2018
All of the accessories are very cheap. The mount system is super hard to tighten i actually took it off because to do it i had to almost reck my rifle and the lens cover broke really easy! The actual scope and dot sight works fine
Pros:
  • Dot sight cool
  • Scope is fine
Cons:
  • All the accessories are cheap
Best Used for:
  • Save your money for something else

Sweet Trinity Force Scope

by tissuedude, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on March 25, 2018
This is a great scope and was at a great price, great shipping and the ordering process was almost too easy. Easy install on my AR-15 as well. This was my first order from Optics Planet but it will not be my last one.

Good for the money.

by Minifloyd, from MI, United States Written on December 23, 2017
Good value for what you spend, would recommend for a 22lr sized rifle do to the scopes poor eye relief that requires you to have your eye within a couple inches. Dot sight mount is easy to install and zero for anyone with any experience.
Pros:
  • good scope for the money
Cons:
  • You get what you pay for
Best Used for:
  • Small caliber rifles

You get what you pay for

by DeathDealer, from AL, United States Written on September 21, 2017
This was my first order with Optics and thus far really disappointed with this product. First, opened the box and removed scope, went to remove lens covers and right away one of the straps broke. Second, The tri-color mil-dot which is suppose to be red, green, and blue stays green through the red and blue color selections and have to push on color selector to change colors but once I remove pressure it goes back to green. Three, The red dot on the sight looks like a star burst and cannot clearly see targets. Even after reducing the illumination level still has a star burst looking effect. The price was very affordable but as I stated up top, you get what you pay for.
I am hoping that this is just one of those items out of many that just happened to be crappy and not work right and I drew the short straw and was sent to me.

Sincerely

Good learning purchac=

by Dusty Snow, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on July 8, 2017
I bought this scope for my ar15 because I had never shot with a scope or red dot so I got this to get a feel for what to look for. So what I liked: the glass is clear and focuses easily. The quick detach mount is very convenient and secure. It comes with a mount riser which allowed a more comfortable cheek weld. What I didnt like: the eye relief is very tight and on my ar15 this caused an uncomfortable stance (I know it has a red dot but more on that later). WithoUT lock tight the screws between the scope and mount loosened repeatedly. This scope would hold zero as long as it stayed exactly in place so every time I took it off to tighten the screws I had to re-zero and when I switched it out to try my atn x-sight I had to rezero this sight when I put it back on (so it was easy to take it on and off with the quick detach mount but it had to be re-zeroed every time). The red dot sight was in a word useless. The dot stretched from center to the top if I moved the dot to the top. It was very hard to zero and had to be re-zeroed everytime I took the gun out of the case. Eventually I quit using it. Finally, after having the scope a few months the knob that controls reticle illumination broke off. I am sending it back for ten dollar warranty repair. This scope was good to learn with, easy to use, good to look though, and fun. This is not a usefull scope though. I would not rely on it to hunt and definitely not a tactical tool. I got a high lux red dot sight...
