Adequate In a Hurricane
I received this just in time to wear it in Hurricane Matthew. Initial impression, it kept me 98% dry in heavy wind and 3+ hours of rain. It is not 100% water proof. After 3 hours of downpour and side winds. Leaked a little around the wrist and on shoulder seams, enough to notice, but not enough to get me wet or be aggravating. Runs to the large side, so layering in winter should not be a problem. Appears to be decently made. It has the multiple pockets in the right places. All the gear I stowed in them stayed dry. Although the hood is large (same size as mil spec version and designed to fit ov...

Nice Parka for the Money
I bought this parka and the matching fleece at a very good price of $116 for both of them. This parka is a pretty robust material and has a high collar and large hood. There are many adjustment points that allow for a good fit including a unique snapping device at the midsection that also incorporates pull cords to seal your body warmth in. I have never seen a device like this in a jacket and while effective, it is a bit cumbersome. The flapped pockets on the outside and the hand pockets underneath them are a plus. All in all, it is a nice heavy duty jacket that allows the matching fleece to be zipped in and attached to the sleeves. My only complaint is that the collar snap for the jacket and the matching fleece use different size snaps so they cannot be attached at the collar. I don't know if this is a one off or it is this way on all of the inventory. That makes things not as convenient when installing and using the fleece with the parka. I took it to an alteration shop and they informed that they could not change either snap due to the way they are sewn in. That was disappointing. But it is still useable as a system and for the price I paid and I am content with my purchase. If anyone knows a good fix for the snap issue, I would love to know.

Tru-Spec ECWCS Coat LEO Use
I purchased the Marpat camo color in this jacket. I haven’t tested it yet. However, it feels well made. Doesn’t seem to be too different from the gortex I was issued in the Marines. I bought this jacket to wear as a law enforcement officer on the rainy days and where concealment is needed (compared to my bright high vis rain coat my agency issued to me). I’ll be wearing this in Florida so I didn’t care if this didn’t come with a liner (it gets real hot and muggy down here). I bought the large regular being 5’7, broad shoulders, at 200 lbs. it fits nice and will fit even better with my exterior carrier. I didn’t realize this coat didn’t have the law enforcement side zipper but I’ll tuck it inbetween my holster so I have access to it. The double sided main zipper helps in that aspect as well. I’ll test it out for sure because it’s hurricane season. Also the collar is really large, but I don’t foresee any issues with it.

TRU-SPEC Gen 2 H2O Proof ECWCS Parka - Men's
Awesome jacket when partnered with the fleece liner. Definitely waterproof.

ECWCS Parka
It’s a very nice parka and has worked fine so far. Fabric feels slightly thinner than the original military parka so hopefully it holds up. Seems to run a bit large but that’s probably a good thing so the fleece can be added which I intend to purchase in the fall. All in all I would recommend this product
Pros:
- Well made, comfortable,
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- oudoors
- Outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating, hiking

Great jacket for wet weather or snow
Light weight jacket that is still warm in moderately cold weather. Good outer shell. Nothing fancy but gets the job done. I had an original Gen 2, that I bought from a surplus store, for over 20 years. This is its replacement and it seems to be doing well after one winter so far.
Pros:
- light weight
- warm
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- being outside
Would recommend: Yes
Good product
Was concerned about sizing but the coat fit just like advertised; normal American sizes. Fabric & sewing seem to be good quality. Lower pockets are kinda oddly angled for your hands while walking but not much of an issue. Since it is brand-new it is very stiff but I think it will be more pliable as I continue to use it. Only been in the rain one time so far but it shed water just fine.
Pros:
- good quality
- Good advertised description
Cons:
- Odd pocket angles

ECWCS Parka
I have been using jackets lined with Gore Tex and other waterproof/breathable membranes since they came out in the '80s. While they all look great on those 20 to 30-something kids as they walk on clear trails or wide open fields and mountain tops, not a one of them is suited to a three mile bushwack to a worksite or a crash. Have worn this for both. Took guff from hipsters 'cause it doesn't have a fancy label. But then too... I was wearing a parka that kept me dry and warm while they were looking stylishly wet and cold. Wear this for what it is. Serious butt protection from the elements.
Pros:
- Tough. Works
Cons:
- Won't win you hipster style points
Best Used for:
- Hard-a$$ wilderness work and travel

Great gortex jacket
This is a great gortex jacket. After ETSing, I missed my gortex. This is an excellent replacement. I have worn it and used it light rain up to torrential downpour and no issues at all. Totally worth it.
I DO wish it had an internal pocket or hand pockets at chest level but that is minor compared to the value.

Great waterproof parka
Great ECWCS. Just as described and well worth the money. It takes the zip in fleece perfectly and makes it nice for those rainy cold nights. Sized as would be expected. I am 6'3" 240lbs and the XL Long fits nicely. If you need this for work or play, I would recommend buying.
