Everything but the qd mount that is made in the handguard is good. Doesnt have any wiggle, lines up well with aero upper, barrel but has no play, and is pretty light. I gave this handguard 4 stars, not the best but a bargain at $32. Mlok slots look water jetted but things fit fine. Actual length of this 7" is 7 1/4". I had to file on the tabs that locate handguard to upper but no biggie. This thing is wispy light, barrel nut seems to be same alloy and not steel... kind of spongy almost (anyone familiar with magnesium knows what I'm talking about) but nut didn't smear on the wrench flats. I think it's perfect for what I have it on. As always Optics Planet delivered fair price, accurate fulfillment, and fast shipping.

Great handguard for a dedicated .22 9" CMMG AR-15 pistol. Comes up to the barrel's threads with enough room to screw on a suppressor. Lightweight with anti-rotation pins and very positive lock-up on the barrel nut. Fit and finish are very good with an even FDE both inside and out. Couldn't ask for a better handguard regardless of price, perfect for my application.

People claim to have issues with stripping threads. I didnt have any issues. super light weight. I used the specs that are on the product page.

Pleasantly Surprised

When I placed my order for the 9" handguard I was a bit skeptical of the product with their low price point, and hopeful as it is a good looking handguard in FDE. When it arrived I was literally shocked at how little this things weighs! It was almost like holding air; it's wild. Mine came with all of the hardware, no blemishes, and seemingly well made.

The pros: INSANELY lightweight; strong enough to withstand range and .300 blackout abuse; easy installation; looks great on my pistol

Cons: screws could be longer IMO especially with 3-lbs of torque

Lightweight is right..

Lightweight definitely describes this handguard. It’s so lightweight that one of the screw holes stripped out as l was tightening the screws down. Wasn’t being particularly rough with it, going back and forth between the two screws and one of them stripped out its hole. The other screw had another turn or two to go and tightened down satisfactorily. The hand guard is mounted firmly but l don’t trust it to stay that way. The color also doesn’t match up with the Anderson upper and lower, it being lighter than the Anderson pieces. Overall, not pleased at all with this purchase. At the price l paid, l’m just going to chunk it in the trash and chalk it up to experience.

No very robust

Whatever the barrel nut is made of is not heavy duty enough for the max recommended AR torque specs. Instructions say not to torque the 2 10\32 screws past 3 foot pounds, (36 inch pounds). Mine stripped out at 30 inch pounds.
