I purchased this for my AR 10. I was looking for something that did not clamp around a barrel nut. This one is fastened around the perimeter of the barrel nut with screws, that I wish were bigger but so far seem fine. It is pretty trim and fits superbly. The big reason I chose this is because you don;t have to time the gas tube with anything, the required torque is a little lower than others. FUNCTIONAL AND LOOKS GOOD!!!

When I first purchased this it sat in my shop and I misplaced the installation tool...The people at UTG we SO HELPFUL! They responded immediately and got me a replacement tool. Installation was pretty easy. The hardest part was changing the gas block. You MUST change the gas block if you use this handguard. I used SLR Sentry 7 .750 Adjustable Gas Block w/.450 in. Set Screw Spacing, Black, SA7-450-SM and it works PERFECTLY! I HIGHLY recommend that you drill dimples on the barrel to prevent the gas block from slipping. I'm not the most mechanical guy and I did it in no time but I took my time. There are plenty of YouTube videos on the install.

slim and solid

I used this with a Faxon 24” heavy fluted match barrel in 6.5CM and it looks great. No tightening lug underneath, ability to line up perfectly regardless of barrel torque and really compliments the long barrel being 17” long forearm.

slim and nice

You can torque barrel nut to desired setting and then still align the handguard perfectly thanks to the slick two peice barrel nut. If you want a a really slim forend without a “lug” on the bottom where you have tightening nuts, get this one. Slick design.

One of the best handguards for an ar308 build

Title says it all, this is a well designed, well machine handguard that is light, slim and sturdy. It’s got plenty of mlok space all over it and looks very good on 20 inch barrels. If I build another ar10/ar308, this will be my handguard of choice, no question

Leapers M-LOK M and P10 17 in Super Slim Free Float Handguard

To be honest I was hesatant to purchase this rail system simply because of the quality of some of the Leapers items in the past. Glad I took the chance. Used it on my Smith & Wesson AR-10. The fit and finish is great!! The way the tube is shaped it feels right in your hand. I would purchase again without question.

five out of five. very happy with this product

I put this on a Smith and Wesson M&P10. It’s solid and fit great. It also looks and feels really good. The two locking lugs that integrate into the upper receiver and keep it perfectly aligned and doesn’t move at all. Direct fit, easy to install and comes with all hardware necessary to install on the AR besides the low profile gas block that I knew I’d need.

Wish I could keep it

I bought this by mistake. I ment to order a part for an AR 15 not an AR 10. Optics Planet was extremely easy to work with and made the exchange and refund very easy. They have earned my business and I rarely shop elsewhere. I chose this rail because I have multiple other UTG slim profile handguards like this. They are a fraction of the price of other manufacturers and produce excellent parts with clean machine finishes

Leapers M-LOK M and P10 17 in Super Slim Free Float Handguard

Very nice rail - fits just as I expected - easy install. I like that it covers more of the 20" barrel I have installed - looks better to me that way. Matched up perfectly to my low rail DPMS upper. Very good value in my opinion. Have used other Leapers super slim rails on other builds and I really like the way they fit and feel in my hand.

Good Looking Rail

If you need a long rail this is the one. Well made, light, solid pic on top and mlok on 7 more sides. 18 inch barrel sticks out about 3/4 of an inch. Edges are scalloped. Nice little bundle of parts. Exactly what I needed.

Great Mlok Rail

This is a great rail I have this product on a Grendel, I ordered this one in particular for a creedmoor and had to send it back. On a .308 platform AR there are high profile and low profile, I have a high profile upper and this is a low profile handguard. However this is still a great product, the machine time put into it is amazing. All of the finger rest positions have been machined to ensure no snagging, and for less weight. And all openings are beveled for no snagging or cutting! This little process makes this product great!
