Took this to the range as soon as i got it. Highly disappointed, as I could not see my shots at 200 yards on paper. The image became unclear when magnifying past about 25x. 20x was fairly crisp, but I could not discern shots at that distance and magnification. My vortex PST II at 25x worked better. Tripod was decent.

Took this home and filled out return papers immediately. Bought a vortex razor HD instead. If you have high expectations, spend you money on something better.

This scope is exceptional clear at close range. At longer distances it is not as bright as I’d hoped being advertised as HD glass however at 460yds you can still read the model number on a MF 1100 tractor. I got it on sale and during a discount day with a rebate for free tripod. I feel it will work ok to identify impacts for my needs. If I had to pay full $689 advertised price for it I would most definitely pass on this optic.

I bought this spotting scope bases on the review off Rockslide where it's compared to a swavorski ,any how I can also tell you their customer service and warranty is amongst the best ,I originally had the 20x60x80xf model and the day I got it fell and the plastic ocular broke ,I sheepishly and embarredly called Vangaurd warranty and they were great they said they would repair it no charge,So I sent in my scope for repair it started getting buyers remorse especially after reading all the reviews of the hd model so I called warranty and they said they would upgrade me to the hd model for 60$ which I jumped on and I am glad I did.Ive. compared it to a Leoupold at the range and I am glad I got the Vangaurd

I purchase this spotting scope for viewing targets at long range. I haven't got to the range yet but I did view a sign 1200 yards away with no problems. I verified the range with a Sig Kilo. I think I'll have no problem seeing targets at one mile with this. Notice I didn't say bullet holes, just swinging steel targets.

I bought this scope for target shooting and have found the scope to be clear, a bit touchy on fine adjustment at the higher magnification but with use not a big issue. It is a comfortable weight and the Vanguaard Alta 264 AO tripod is very steady and easy to adjust.

After reading several reviews I chose this scope and it performed as advertised. I was able to see 30 cal shots easily at 200yds. 22 cal shots were visible at 200yds but were distorted more by mirage than the 30 cal shots which is to be expected. The glass is clear edge to edge, the color seems pretty true, and contrast is good. The fit and finish is good and I think it should hold up in the field. I would buy this scope again.

Very nice hd spotting scope. Maybe a bit heavy for those backpacking great distances, but I find it very acceptable. I really don't know how they can make this for what they charge for it although I did have free shipping and 10% off through optics planet. I think its very well made and the lack of a fully covered rubber body doesn't deflect from the scope in any way. Eye piece is wide and easily attaches by a bayonet type fitting. Scope looks as if it will take some abuse and still work out great. Cover was a bit tight at the start but after some manipulation easily went over the scope. Front and rear objective and eye piece covers fit well on the cover but maybe an extra stud attachment would not go amiss just to keep them extra secure. All in all I believe I picked an excellent scope for the money and it will give me lots of enjoyment for years to come. I read lots of reviews before purchasing this scope. Sometimes I believe you can get a bit lost in all of the reviews that you read and become a bit confused.At the end of the day, this scope is worth way more than what i paid for it, and believe me,I am very hard to please. Even if I could afford a $2000 Swarovski I don't think I would get any more enjoyment out of it, than I do with this one. I am a very happy customer, M.C

Bought this scope because of all the great reviews. Haven't used much yet but I did set up to try it out. A friend and myself were impressed. Scope will be used for a Alaska moose hunt in 2017. didnt want to spend $3000.

After reading hundreds of reviews on many similar products, we settled on the Vanguard. Our main purpose is to look at the wildlife on the neighboring farmland. Our typical distance is 500 to 1000 yards. Having owned "cheap" scopes in the past, I was hoping for a better picture with the Vanguard. At 500 yards we can almost count the number of hairs in a turkey beard. Can't wait until the deer start growing antlers.

I'm not an optics person; however, at low to medium power, the field of view is crisp and clear. The focus knobs work very well in harmony with each other. My wife and I both wear glasses; however we prefer to use the scope without them. The eye relief is excellent and much better than my hunting scope. As others have stated, at maximum power, the clarity under certain conditions is a little fuzzy. On a cold crisp day without haze, the object is clearly visible. On a warmer day, you may notice a little blurring at the edges; however, a slight reduction in the power level will eliminate that.

Never had a scope with an eyepiece that was not inline with the scope body. Love the offset angle of the adjustable eyepiece. More comfortable to look down through the eyepiece, in my opinion.

The enclosed case is nice and we are still waiting for our free tripod. At low power, you can scan the fields quickly looking for wildlife. I find the field of view at that power very good.

Being on a fixed income I searched for many hours for a scope that would suit my needs. This scope went well beyond that. I upgraded from a 15-45x60 straight scope to this Vanguard. The view is crystal clear even at sunset. The ED glass does make a difference. I love the angled scope - so much easier than a straight scope. The stay on case would not be my first choice - it does provide some protection but I prefer a full case but I did not buy it for the case. Delivery from Optics Planet was spot on - fast and well packed.
