Most Helpful Positive Review Slick EDC sling bag
Bought so I could carry my Sub-2K and it's a great match. Worried about all the weight being on one shoulder but the strap is surprisingly comfortable even with nearly 20lbs including the pack. Great thing is how inconspicuous it is when carrying. I would recommend it to anyone who wants/needs to carry a sub-gun.

High speed low drag

by Foghorn, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on March 14, 2017
Actually needed a new way of carrying my laptop for work. The old shoulder bag was on it's last leg and I wanted to try a sling bag. (I purchased this myself so it wasn't something bought for me by my company.)
When it arrived I was a little surprised at the size.. its a little smaller than I was expecting. My 15" laptop fits but if definitely wouldn't work on anything larger. At first unpacking I didn't think that it was going hold everything I needed but it did fine. Plenty of admin type storage for office supplies. The front pouch pulls away easy enough but I don't feel that I'll loose anything.
The "CCW" compartment has plenty of room and once I set it up I'll see what its like to carry with the laptop. There's a backer/stiffener of sorts between this compartment and the padding against your back. I'm hoping this would reduce any sharp spots that could come from having the laptop rest against a firearm and you back.
The Sling is comfortable and there are some nice keepers that will hold the extra webbing out of the way. I'm not really a fan of the way the secondary strap comes around closer to your waist. I'd personally prefer more of a sternum strap but I haven't really felt like I needed it. For reference I wear a 44 jacket and the strap fits fine with out feeling restricting or too loose.
I've had it for about a month and so far I'm pleased.
Pros:
  • well balanced
  • well constructed, seems durable.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Laptop
  • Day pack

Great if you're hauling a few extra things

by sixpaik, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on February 19, 2017
So far, this bag has been very durable and has met my EDC needs when I'm hauling along extra things. I was surprised at how much I could actually fit into the bag. I was able to comfortably put in my laptop, 4 books, my charger, and my over the ear headphones with room to spare. This is all along with my handgun packed neatly in the back. Only issue is that when carrying so much, it weighs pretty heavily on your left shoulder, which can be burdensome after a while. In the future, I won't be packing as much extra items anyway so this shouldn't be a problem. A lot of customization options available which is also a plus for anyone. You can tell the bag is made of quality materials as well. Zippers run smoothly and don't seem to catch on loose materials lining the zipper.
Pros:
  • Ease of use
  • Customizable
Cons:
  • Comfort

Uncomfortable

by Carlos, from MD, United States Written on August 24, 2016
I purchased this bag for a trip to Europe since my maxpedition looked too "tactical". I am so send to sling bags and I prefer them to back packs for smal to medium loads. I found this bag has a very narrow comfort zone: it is great for a quick deployment of a firearm and large area of body armor protection. Anything else I find it uncomfortable to access the content even if not fully loaded. I even added the Velcro tactigami accessories expecting it to make organization easy. Well, it makes access even harder.
Pros:
  • comfortable to wear
  • great protection
  • Good constuction
  • Great looks.
Cons:
  • Hard to access content
Best Used for:
  • Off body carry

Uncomfortable

by OR Highlander, from OR, United States Written on March 22, 2016
It was my intent to use this as a replacement for my old Timbuk2, but I found that the sling was not a comfortable fit for me. I suspect I have become more familiar with a messenger style pack/case, so I sent the Commuter Sling back for the Principle Briefcase & Courier. Once they arrive I pick the one that is the most comfortable as well as meets my EDC needs.

While the fit may not have been optimal to me that should in no way diminish that the bag is quality and will make anyone happy if they find the sling to be functional for them.
Pros:
  • Design and Engineering
Cons:
  • Comfort
Best Used for:
  • EDC carry bag
