I have good experience with the Gamma 556 so for my large frame AR project in 308, I picked the Gamma 762. Lots of great reviews on this hunk of metal. I specially like that it is nitride finished. The pre-drilled pin hole is also a nice touch. I bought a second one for a 14.5" 300 BLK because of that. (Why 14.5"? Because Kalifornia)

Used this to reduce the stiff recoil of my very lightweight 308 RAP with an 18 inch barrel. This break took it from not being fun to shoot to now I can enjoy shooting my new rifle. My RAP now recoils about the same as my heavy 26 inch bull barrel Rem 700 Recoil is now manageable. Get a good crush washer to time the break. I used a YHM (Yankee Hill Machine) washer
Pros:
- Looks good on the rifle
- Really reduced felt recoil
Cons:
- Easy to over-torque
- timing takes some patience during installation
Best Used for:
- Light heavy recoiling rifles

I bought this for a new Howa 1500 build in 308. Its sitting at the end of a 24 inch heavy contour, carbon fiber barrel with a MDT field stock. This comp is not a heavy bulky compensator. It's fairly slim, but works pretty darn good. Helped calm the recoil, but also helped to manage my point of impact slightly, bringing 3/4 moa down to 3/8 and keyhole. Maybe it was just a good day at the range, but I'm thing it might be the brake. Anyways I like it and I'll keep using it.
Pros:
- Size, weight, looks good
- Size, weight, looks, works

I run this brake on several different rifles, and it works amazingly well. It reduces muzzle rise and, in turn, helps create better accuracy. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid brake.

Purchased this product for a 6.5 creedmoor to replace a less expensive brake. After firing several times I couldn’t really tell a notable difference between the less expensive brake and the VG6 brake. Just my opinion.

Bought this for my RPR 6.5 Creedmoor because it came without one. Previous owner had a can installed.
No problems installing it. Screwed right on.
Noticeable difference in recoil from shooting without so I think that is the real test.
Can't speak to comparing with other brakes but I do recommend this one.
The Aero Precision VG6 GAMMA 762 works as advertised.

This does an extremely good job at reducing recoil and muzzle rise. I installed it on a S&W M&P10 and I love it.

I own a few of these brakes already in both 7.62 and 6.5. They work well on my .308 and 6.5 Grendel rifles respectively. And they look good with a standard barrel profile.
There are brakes that perform better but they are larger with a less attractive profile. I have these on hunting rifles. My competition rifles have larger and more effective brakes. They are also louder.
Pros:
- Look good, work well, low profile
Cons:
- Other brakes control recoil better but are also much larger and louder.
