This is my first real brand enclosed dot. not some knock off which ive done well with. But i wanted a dot for a .357 and i wanted something decent. I found this in an opmod version for 230 with a riser and an rmr adapter plate with it. The plate is 50 alone. Far as i can tell compared to another rfx45 the only differences are mine only says opmop on the right side and virian across the back nothing else but function the same. Lss. Mounted on a R8 with an adapter inplace of the rear sight and i am 3 trips to the range, 800 rnd, and 3 cleanings and still holding zero and ive never experienced what a "DOT" can really do. I shoot predominantly iron sights on everything but rifles which i use scopes. Only dot on a pistol I ever used is an OLD ol school BSA on a 22A and its good but not this good.the 5 moa dot is less than i expected and works wonderful on my revolver. I can easily bullseye consistently with this dot. Its held ip to both recoil and travel and maintenance. My only complaints are 1 the buttons suck. I have 30 dollar dot's with much better tactile and responsive buttons. You really have to push to activate them. 2 Battery cap is aluminum and VERY finely threaded, be very careful and patient with it. 3 a cover for when not in use. I cant even find anything aftermarket either. That's nothing really. Overall im glad I got it.

The battery cover threads are so fine it is near impossible to get it on correctly. The cheap aluminum is too soft and it's easy to cross thread it.

This is absolutely my favorite red dot optic that I have purchased so far. Dot is clear and focused. And with all the electronic stuff on top, I can still see my factory sights if I need them.

The Instant-On feature is super convenient. The sight powers on automatically when it detects motion, which is perfect for quick deployment. Saves battery life too since it shuts off when not in use.

The view through this window is great! The green dot was super easy to see, its very nice and solid.

It’s a very good optic for you firearms works fine and would recommend it to anyone.

I will admit that I purchased this optic from a different supplier than OpticsPlanet, and it was late Nov 2023. Things may have changed in production, I may have had an unfortunate and unlikely failed model, etc. However, my RFX45 failed mere months into ownership. I did not abuse the optic by any means; my guns are largely safe queens besides range visits. I had this mounted on an FN 509, and I'm not sure if put even 1000 rounds through it with the optic on before it just stopped working. I tried replacing the battery (of course), tried pressing every single button on the thing, and even tried putting a piece of cloth in the battery compartment above the battery to trycand compress it down (I was grasping at straws). I really hoped this would be a decent budget ACRO style optic, but if 1000 rounds or so is all it can take, that's not worth the price imo.

Only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because i admittedly did not even bother trying to go through customer service. They might've promptly replaced it with an optic that would work, they might've dragged their feet and replaced it with an optic that did the same thing, they might've not replaced it at all. Without knowing, I can't give a lower rating.

The RFX45 feels solid and well-built. The aluminum housing can take a beating and the sight still performs flawlessly. Plus, the IPX6 rating means I don’t have to worry about rain or dust. Great piece of gear.

This sight is versatile. I’ve used it on my handgun and carbine, and it performs well on both. The closed emitter design keeps the lens clean, and the dot is crisp and clear. Really happy with this purchase.
