Great item you just have to know how to install
The main thing with this rail is you must have removable heat shields. You have to remove the heat shields and you may have to just barely open up the hole by a 30 second of an inch with a small file or Dremel you'd want the grommets to have to be pushed in a little bit of force applied. Then you reinstall the heat shields over the threaded inserts. This Is How They are intended to be installed. Not over top of the heat shields they will not fit in the screws will be too short

- Perfect for seven whole car being length hand guard will work for six hole with small adjustment

Please read note how to install before you do
These fit absolutely perfect on carbine or full length hand guards. That being said you need to remove your heat shields and put the inserts in underneath of the heat shields or the screws will not be long enough this is intentional. You may have to open up the holes by a fraction as you do not want to open them up all the way you want to press them in for them to fit snugly underneath the handguards. This is all you need to do to make them fit right you do not need to go buy extra screws or nuts. This is why you can put them on the top or bottom handguard.

Perfect fit
Perfect fit on M4 plastic handguards, rail design makes it fully adjustable for perfect fit. It is tapered so it will be in line with your barrel and rounded corners make it more snag resistant. My application was on the bottom.

Quality control issue, but with a shim it'll fit.
It was what I was looking for, a rail to fit underneath the A2 plastic handguard. However, it was loose when installed. Maybe your mileage is different. I needed a makeshift shim .010" to hold space on the handguard for the Sig M400 (M4 style). Once the shim was installed it was a firm fit.

m4 picatinny handguard rail
The rail is out of spec. If you try to attach anything other than polymer it will be frustrating. It seems to be slightly short in it's height and slightly wide. Otherwise it installs easily and the angle to the handguard is correct. I won't send it back. The angle and length are what's important to me and it looks good.

Im so glad i found this perfect pic rail for my retro build it was just what i needed and Optics Planet has great prices too , this pic rail has to be very specific to the gi hand guard so it can be a little tough to find but find it i did and i am very pleased !

Great fit on top guard.
The item was easy to install, Hardest part was removing the hand guard due to a extremely tight delta ring. After reading other reviews was afraid that I wouldn't be able to install on the top guard, but I used the small holes instead of the long slots and it fit perfectly, The heat shield snapped on and I saw no obstructions.
