do not buy this from them. They gave me the completely wrong buffer weight and spring from the advertisement. Advertised from them and VLTOR's website is the 5.3 oz buffer H2 and rifle length spring. excellent, just what i needed
Works as intended, and has solved my cycling issues with my carbine. Color of the buffer tube is a little off. It’s not deep black, it kinda looks green. Not that big of a deal. As far as functionality, it works as intended!

The VLTOR A5 system is good to go, regardless of the size.
I have these in everything from 11.5” to 18” and they all work great…it makes my SPR feel even smoother with its rifle length gas system but, even more surprising;
My shorties absolutely love them, definitely more significant difference as compared to the longer mid to rifle length stuff.
Shooting AR’s without the A5 system just feels wonky and snappy, very weird feeling but a discernible feeling nonetheless.
I know the same effect can be achieved with more available options for less but, I have never tried it nor do I care to.

Excellent recoil reduction
I use this on an AR15, 5.56, 18" barrel, rifle length gas system, with a muzzle brake. Recoil, compared to a stock, mil spec, buffer tube is significantly lower.

Short barrel 5.56
This dramatically changed how my dd mk18 operates. Greatly reduced recoil and improves life of your parts by a lot. All short barrel 5.56 guns should have this. Used a bcm mk2 buffer tube and it fits perfectly. Only thing I don’t like about this buffer is it’s loud, every time the gun cycles you can hear the spring clang and vibrate but other than that it’s perfect.

Honestly, just buy this and run it. Personally, I find that these cycle smoother in shorter setups and increase parts life. I started to swap all my buffers/tube to these and never looked back. I’m going to try a green springco next because those work even better but I’ve had zero issues thus far.

Great product
Great product. Does what it’s suppose to do. One of the best upgrades you can do to the ar platform. Use these on all my builds. Would highly recommend. Optics planet had them in stock and at the best price I can find

I have the A5H3 on a rifle that runs great! The combination of a mid length gas system and this buffer system allows the rifle to stand completely still when firing. It was almost surprising. I use grease on my buffer springs to get rid of the typical scraping thwang sound some complain of so it really makes for a pleasant experience. Vltor has an amazing product here! It also came with an end plate and castle nut. I forgot about that. Was a very nice addition.

Smooth Shooting
This is a great kit for 11.5" AR-15s. The added length gets you over 26" overall and allows you to run a vertical grip without angering the ATF. It also makes shooting very smooth and the recoil action softer.

I ordered this to use with my magpul ubr stock. It works great and helps with the recoil of the 6.5 grendel round.when I ordered it I didn’t realize it was on back order and it took 4 months to get it

VLTOR A5 is what you need if you have a long fixed stock
If you have a rifle with the long M16A2 or M16A4 butt stock on it you might want to check out the VLTOR A5 system as a replacement. The LOP can be changed very quickly and the sloping cheek weld of the stock is very comfortable to use, even with optics and below freezing.
Pros:

- Durable (good luck breaking it)
- Balances the 20" barrel and KAC rifle length rail system
Cons:
- Heavy
- expensive - but worth it
- Battery storage tubes (forget them, you will not be able to use them quickly or quietly)
Best Used for:
- Making the M16A4 into a useable rifle
