I was having an issue with “stovepipe” shell ejection issues on my Ruger 10/22. I did some research and decided to install this ejector. It fixed my ejection issue! Not difficult to install…

When running a few magazines through my newly purchased, S&W M&P 15-22P, I had 4 failure to ejects. Which are annoying because this interrupts the shooting experience. After doing some research, I decided to replace the factory extractor with this Volquartsen model. It was a quick and easy install, and there are YouTube videos for guidance. All spent casings ejected properly from that point forward. I did not have any further failure to extracts after that point, and 400+ rounds later there are still no issues. But next I should probably replace the factory firing pin with the pin made by this same Volquartsen company as I am having occasional light primer strikes.
Cons:
- Have to replace a factory part

Solid piece of non-MIM steel that won’t break or wear down on the edge. Fit my Remington 870 perfectly with super easy installation. Rips those shells right out of that chamber. Should be one of your first upgrades to any fighting shotgun.

I was doing a few upgrades on an old Remington 870 and decided since I was going to have it apart, I may as well swap out the extractor. This is a quality part and worth swapping out. I decided it would be a good idea to swap out the old mim part for one made of tool steel. It was pretty easy to swap out. The hardest part was getting the old one to come out. Once out the new one just slid right in. Great upgrade.
Pros:
- Grips shell casings very securely for extraction

Little tricky to change due to its size. Watch the spring when removing old extractor and putting in the new. It did correct the jamming problem and has made it a really nice, fun rifle to shoot. I would recommend changing first thing.

I am so mystified that s&w has allowed this issue to go on. What a simple fix. Thank goodness to you guys my rifle has shells flying out the hole. I was getting 1 jam every 3 or 4 shots. Today I ran 250 in one range time, zero issues. You saved my sanity. I have seen post online over 12 yrs old. S&w need to take responsibility for this issue
Pros:
- It made it work like it was suppose too
Cons:
- S&w need to review their product

After taking my new 15-22 out to the range and getting a bunch of jams, I came home and read about this extractor being a little miracle in a plastic package. It’s absolutely true, my gun now kicks brass 20 feet away and never jams. Optics planet shipped quick and had the best price.

Must buy quality item for any of the variations they make for. I installed one on my 870 in less than a min. For reliability and functionality every time every pull. Run with a Volquartsen, really cannot go wrong. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.. Now just need to get my hands on some Volquartsen stickers.
Best Used for:
- whatever you may be doing that day

I bought my Daughter a brand new Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22 pistol. (The new version) Laser accurate but jammed with a failure to eject every second or third shot. Infuriating. I went online to find that this is extremely common but Smith and Weson keeps sending them out since they sell as fast as they can make them. I read about the Volquartsen extractor and figured for twelve bucks I'd give it a try. The gun is now flawless. Zero jams even with "fast as you can pull the trigger" mag dumps. Empties are in a neat pile, in another county. Boo S&W, hurray Volquartsen!
Pros:
- Turned a junk gun into a reliable weapon
Cons:
- Shouldn't have to do this...

The extractor is well made and nicely polished. The edge the grabs the rim of the case is very sharp and does its job well. I am stalled it without any problems. I test fired my rifle and it threw the spent casings out at a nice 3 o'clock position.
