Installed the barrel, extractor and firing pin in my M&P1522. It would not run a magazine of ammo without FTF multiple times. Problem was light strikes. Ultimately put the OEM factory firing pin back in the bolt and the gun runs flawlessly! The firing pin flat would not work in my gun. Love the barrel and claw type extractor however so I therefore would recommend this barrel.

Great upgrade to the MP15 22.

I needed to replace my barrel on a M&P 15-22 due to a bad squib round and excessive leading there after. Unfortunately, I could not find a replacement from Smith & Wesson, so purchased the Volquartsen barrel. Didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on a low end price point gun, but had no choice. After installing the new barrel, I was glad I did as the gun was very accurate.

I ordered this barrel for my Smith and Wesson M & P 15-22 Performance Center rifle that came with a match barrel that was garbage. I’m about 500 rounds in and couldn’t be happier with the Volquatsen carbon fiber barrel. Wish I could submit a picture of the shot group.

I was unable to find a factory replacement barrel for my MP 15-22. This product was the best solution for my issue. Its lighter and has a nice look to it. Easy to install and comes with the barrel nut wrench. 10/10

Shoots good groups out to 50 yards. My 10/22 with a kidd barrel shoots a bit better and doesn't cost near as much. If it wasn't the only after market barrel i'd of went with another brand.

Good price and fast shipping as always! The Volquartsen barrel was easy to install as well as the extractor. The barrel is super accurate half inch groups. The sure strike firing pin didn't work with my older model 15-22 as it was shorter than the OEM firing pin causing light primer strikes.

This is a beautiful barrel. I was surprised how smooth and clean the bore was even after shooting at least a hundred rounds. It is an accurate barrel, very accurate even with CCI SV ammunition. I believe the barrel itself is on par with a good barrel built for quality full-size AR 22 cal uppers because I found shooting one of those that the group sizes were similar. Unfortunately I believe that the MP15-22 is limited by its handguard and receiver set flex because I found that moving from resting the rifle on the end of the handguard, right near the magwell, and on the mag well, each moved the point of impact at 50 yards by about an inch, so a dedicated non-polymer receiver set will be superior in all but the most controlled of rest positions. But that has nothing to do with this barrel. It's beautiful. The Volquartsen folks were very helpful and answered questions several times and also sent me out some parts for free that they didn't need to. Very impressed with the product and even more the company which I would recommend.

My son's and I have started shooting Steel Challenge. This light weight barrel kit has made a huge improvement for my M&P 15-22. Out of 8 shooters my gun with this barrel kit was by far the most dependable. I think accuracy has improved as well. My son placed 2nd out of 27 shooters. It feels very well balanced. It did need to breakin a bit but only took 30-40 rounds.

I installed the barrel and extractor no problem. But the firing pin was slightly bowed and wouldn't go in all the way. I emailed volquartsen directly at midnight on a Friday and was responded to at 10am Saturday morning. They asked for my address and sent the part asap. I sent 2 emails and one was to respond with my information. Customer service on this level is hard to find these days, and I for one think thats more important than the fact that the product is the best on the market.
