Mr. Bobba the Pappa
This tripod is solid, well balanced and a piece of cake to use. Mounted a Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85 spotting scope and zero problems. Very stable and does not move in the wind. It has a well designed hook to add additional weight but we did not find it necessary.

For the cost I was expecting a little more.
Its not that its a bad tripod, I own a few so I know its just for the cost I would expect a little more.
The legs are wobbly and the pan head isn't as smooth as needed for long range viewing.
I own a few different vortex products and am impressed at their ability to be worth far more than what the...

Vortex Pro GT Tripod PRO-2
Great platform for my Vortex Razor HD 11-33x55. Nice quality, smooth mechanics. Thanks Optics Planet! Works well with the angled scope and a good lockup on the head. I feel safe mounting a thousand dollar on it.

Vortex Pro GT
Loved my Vortex until I saw a Vanguard Alta Pro at $50 less. The Vanguard is far and away a better product and can do things the Vortex simply can't. The folks in Middleton better sharpen their pencils and pay a little closer attention to the competition. I sold my Vortex on Marketplace and bought the Vanguard Alta Pro with 28mm aluminum supports.
Pros:
- fit and finish are remarkable
Cons:
- cost-based on competition it should be $115-125.00
Best Used for:
- If they get the price down its a great product but until they do that it is in a distant 2nd place.

Pro GT Tripod Solidly Built
Excellent tri pod which will replace the more difficult photographic tripod I have used for years.
Carrying bag a big plus for carrying into the backcountry. Reasonably light but substantive to provide a base esp with added weight on the hook supplied.

Vortex Pro GT 2 Tripod
Bought this for my spotting scope mostly the the range. Before this I used the short tripod that came with the spotting scope, but it shook too much with the wind that made me dizzy. Tried the camera tripod but I didn’t help. So finally got the Vortex tripod and it worked like a champ no more shaking. I really enjoy using it. Build like a tank. Highly recommend it.
Pros:
- Sturdy
- easy to adjust
Cons:
- None

Solid tripod
The Vortex Pro GT is a solid well built tripod. It is a bit big and bulky for backcountry backpacking but not undoable and is expected for a sturdy tripod. Mine came with a carry case that I can easily stay to the side of my pack. Good quality you would regret your purchase

Great bipod for range only!
I purchased this tripod to use with my Leupold Mark 4 spotting scope and it truly is a well built piece of kit that is intuitive to use and you will not have to worry about breaking, my only complaint is the weight, if you are looking for an all around tripod that can be used in the field and on the range I would recommend going all out and splurging on something carbon fiber. But for trips out to the range or in an environment where space and weight are not an issue this is an extremely robust and easy to use piece!
Pros:
- Ruggedness!
Cons:
- Weight!
Best Used for:
- range trips

Vortex Pro GT Tripod
I am using a Vortex Razor HD 27-60X85 angled spotting scope on this pod. This pod is well built, light weight folds well for fit in the carry bag. I have only been using it at the range from 50 to 500 yards. Have not yet had a call to use it in the field. Has all the adjustments that might be needed and easy to set up and break down at the end of the session. This was just the pod I needed. Looking forward to using it for years to come.
Pros:
- light weight
- well made
- Easy to set up
- Folds up compact
Cons:
- none at this time

Great product
Light weight, easy to set up and use. Very sturdy and solid for using spotting scope to watch game or use at the range. It’s a bit large to pack but works great from the truck. I would highly recommend this product if you’re in the market for a good scope tripod.
