Fabulous clarity. Used on planets,birds and targets thus far with no complaints. Do get a stable tripod for this scope,It's worth it.

My New Spotting Scope
This is the second Vortex spotting scope I have purchased. I use it for watching the ships go in and out of Duluth Harbor on Lake Superior. Th last one I had was great but with this higher quality glass and 86mm the definition is incredible!

Best spotter scope
Shot my 8.6 over 2 miles. Could see the impact on rodent miles out. Definitely recommend.

Well Built & Clear Glass
I'm a Vortex Razor HD fanboy so this review might be little bit bias. I have all Vortex Razor HD scope gen I and II. As always, this Vortex Razor HD spotting is very well built and clear like my other Vortex Razor HD scopes. Highly recommended. Opticsplanet is my only place for good deals and free/quick delivery. Opticsplanet is my candy store and love it.

Great Spotting Scope
Con: it is expensive, and it is heavy. I wouldn't want to carry it on my person on a long hunt.
Pro: It is an excellent spotting scope with great clarity. You wouldn't think good glass makes that big a difference, but it really does. I shoot .22 out to 200 yards. I had a less expensive spotting scope with a 24 - 60 magnification range and had a hard time seeing my groups at 100 yards. I agonized over spending the money on this spotting scope but I am glad I did. Planet Optics generous return policy took some of the fear out of the price.
Side by side with a decent $300.00 spotting scope proved to me that there is just no comparison. It was money well spent. I can only wonder what a $4,000.00 spotting scope is capable of.

Fit and finish could be improved.
The rubber cover on the knob for tripod collar ring fell off immediately when I removed the scope from the box for the first. Fortunately I could repair it with some rubber contact cement, but at this price point parts should not fall off the scope. Otherwise the product works as intended with clear, sharp optics. This spotting scope does not match the quality of the big European brands, but is a good value for the price.

Amazing optics
Wanted to upgrade my old angled scope to a straight scope to make viewing from a vehicle window mount easier. The optics are sharp and clear. The large focusing ring and eyecups make it easy to get objects into immediate focus.

Not the cheapest Vortex Spotter
I finally unbox it and tested it out on the red rocks of Sedona Arizona, very nice optics indeed. The colors are spot on. Quality feel, love the zoom wheel. Eye relief adjustment is efficient too. Would recommend to a friend or colleague.
