Glock 23 Gen4
This particular red dot slide adapter was the only one recommended to mount my Vortex Razor red dot quick acquire sight to my Glock 23 Gen.4. As I was mounting the slide adapter I realized that it didn't quite fit and I had to do a little modifying by cutting a little off the plastic plate to get it...

Universal 1911 slide mount??? NOT!
The adaptor billed as "fits any 1911" to adapt the Vortex red dot sight is just plain wrong. I was fairly sure it wouldn't work, but needed a starting point to machine parts to make it happen. 1) the plate did not fit to the Vortex. 2) The holes in the Vortex were too small for the machine screws ...

Beretta 92 MT-5103 mount for the Razor red dot does not work for the Beretta 92A1
Vortec's "sight adapter" (the dovetailed piece that replaces the rear sight) prevents the left side of the pistol's "safety/decocking lever" being able to rotate fully into firing position. This prevents the firing pin (located in the lever's shaft) from rotating into place where it can be struck by the hammer. I unfortunately discovered this after spending considerable time on a diamond sharpening stone getting the adapter to fit. The mount's "base plate" is a large plastic molding that doesn't really fit the shape of the top of the 92A1's slide. The base plate's "alignment bumps" don't line up with the holes in the "mounting shim". Finally, the sight attachment screws, both those that come with the mount and the Razor, are too short.
So what to do? The adapter can't be shortened to the width of the rear sight's dovetail because of the location of the Razor's mounting screws. I suppose the left rear of the adapter could be filed away to remove the part that obstructs the safety lever, or the left side of the lever could likewise be filed (ruining the gun's finish). And the other things could be fixed with effort. But WTF? I'm returning the Razor and its troublesome mount and will continue looking for a red dot that will fit my gun.

Did not fit
This did not fit my Smith & Wesson M&P 45C. Too much play to securely mount the Vortex Razor red dot. Needed to have more of a dovetail base instead of the flat base it had. Ended up getting the correct mount from Evolution Gun Works and it worked great.

Only fits the Razor Red dot
I'm partially to blame for this situation. I had mistakenly thought this mount would work for other vortex red dot, but unfortunately it does not. It only fits the Razor (their most expensive red dot). It would not have been difficult to design it for all vortex red dots
Pros:
- Inexpensive
Cons:
- Only fits Razor Red Dots.
Best Used for:
- Pistol mounts

Vortex mount for Glock 19
Nice fitting mount that looks good. Made of sturdy alloy and keeps the sight low to the slide. Sits well on the slide.
Had to alter a couple of things to make it fit. Screws were too long and holes on the Vortex Venom were too small so had to ream the holes and shorten the screws otherwise a good mount.

Vortex razor red dot handgun lide mount for Glock 17
Milled slide bar which is supposed to fit in the groove of the rear sight of the pistol was much smaller than the rear sight channel sliding easily from one side to the other. Useless to mount a red dot as it could never hold a zero and would, in rough handling drop the sight from the pistol.
