Vortex Razor Red Dot Sight, 3 MOA
This sight is pricey. It is of fine quality and you get what you pay for. I mounted it on a .22 rimfire handgun for steel shoot competitions. After (3) matches I am quite satisfied.
Pros: Well made, compact size, great clarity
Cons: Rail mount taller than necessary. Few direct pistol mounts avai...

Vortex, razor red dot
Excited to try new vortex optics on my 5.7 AR. DISAPPOINTED, nicely made, would not hold zero after two shots. Used the locking feature, watched video on how to use, still did not hold zero. Back to the strike fire II.

Cons:
- Bit spendy

Disappointed
Super clear sight picture and was almost spot on right out of the box at ten/ twenty five yards. Only about two inches low but right in line with bullseye and good groups. About twenty five to thirty rounds in, screws to mounting plate come loose and dot is way off. I tightened the screws and did some more sighting in but dot seems to jump and groups are loose with flyers. I will try again on my next round to range with loctite and lock the sight in after my clicks to see if it holds zero better. Clicks are very mushy. Also terrible up and down arrow placement you have to put your finger/fingers in the line of sight to adjust the setting. Had I known this before hand I would not have purchased it. This was used on an ak.
Pros:
- Clear sight picture clear dot
Cons:
- Possible dud bad button placement

On/Off & Brightness Controls are Poorly Placed
I'm a Vortex loyalist and buy their optics almost exclusively. Unfortunately, the Razor is not their best design effort. I bought this to use on a CZ Scorpion, hoping to get it close to co-witnessing with the OEM sights. The mount on this version of the Razor is still too high but I could likely work around that, if it was the only issue. The deal-breaker is the placement of the on/off & brightness control buttons. The buttons are placed close to the lens and require you to have your finger in front of the lens & dot, making adjustments and activation/deactivation of the sight difficult. Additionally, if you're wearing gloves, the buttons are too small and lack sufficient tactile feedback to be a realistic option on any firearm which may be pressed into service without a lot of notice. This design needs to be re-worked, to say the least - pretty poor effort Vortex.
I have several Venom red dots and love 'em. The Razor, however, went back to OP.

perfect design for offset mount
Clean and crisp, solid construction and a great visible dot.
I ordered this because its one of the few red dots that has the control buttons in the right soot for an offset mount on an AR styled weapon.
Most are on the the left side and that presents a problem unless you have unbelievably tiny fingers.
Thesecontrols are on the top and are very easy to access.
Great little optic with a lifetime warranty!

love this optic
I put this optic on my CZ scorpion. It's ideally suited as a cowitness for the iron sites that come with it. Small, compact, and holds zero as long as you blue locktite the mounting screws. Easy battery replacement but haven't needed to yet. And great dot size for my preference.

Plate shooting competition
I mounted this on a 22 rifle for plate shooting matches to replace a 3-MOA dot that was mounted on it.The 6-MOA dot is easer and faster to pick up especially in bright conditions. When the rifle is at the ready position and the buzzer goes off, you need to be fast to get on target to beat the clock.
Pros:
- bright
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- fast action shooting

Vortex Razor
Site arrived packaged well. Mounted to rifle easily and quickly. Disappointed that first time to the range with the site to zero it I found that it shut off every time the gun cycled. Checked mount, checked that sight was torqued appropriately to mounting base. Changed battery to be sure it was not that causing issue. Determined that switch on site was faulty after calling Vortex customer service. Will say Vortex customer service is taking care of the problem quickly and responded well. Just disappointed in the quality control and thus can't give it a 5 star review.
