A sturdy tripod for my large spotter.
Wanted a quality, very sturdy yet portable tripod for my Kowa 884 spotting scope. One that could withstand the wind. It has the hook for extra weight but so far I've not needed it. It is solid, also the pan is nice and smooth. Not something you would want to pack into the back-country, but that's not what I was looking for. It's just what I wanted. Oh, by the way, I'm 6'1" and can use it comfortably from the standing position. Hope this helps someone.
Pros: Very sturdy.
Cons: For some maybe the weight.
Nice tripod
Picked this up when I purchased my spotting scope. Very easy to use will take some time to learn how to use effectively. What I like about it is this tripod can be used in multiple settings, I used it at along distance range and later that week for some bird watching.

Rock solid spotting scope mount/tripod
I purchased a new, heavy and expensive spotting scope and looked at more tripod/mounts than I cared for. However, The Skyline caught my eye and I thought it would be a winner. I am very pleased with this tripod. Has enough controls/adjustments/sturdiness/flexibility to comply with my needs. It has been many years since I have used a tripod and there have been many improvements along the way and this mount is a fine accumulation of the improvements. Sure, you can spend more $$$ but if you want a mount that is rock solid and does the job at a reasonable price I recommend the Skyline.
