Jackal's Review of Vortex Viper PST Gen II 3-15x44mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube ,First Focal Plane (FFP)

These scopes have the best glass that I've seen for the amount spent. I have compared them with many more expensive optics and end up always going back to Vortex. The PST Gen II has almost everything the Razor has, but at a reasonable price range. Is it a Razor? NO. But for the money the Viper PST Gen II can't be beat. I will say that between Vortex and Primary Arms, the decision is difficult, as Primary Arms also makes a great optic with some pretty awesome reticles at a solid price point, but I couldn't say no to the deal Optics planet was offering on these. I also have a gen I PST, and it hasn't failed me yet. As for my GEN II 1-6x, I got a dent in it from dropping it and Vortex was quick to offer to fix it immediately even though it was my fault. No questions asked. Thats what I call a warranty with unbeatable customer service. Get a Vortex, and you won't be disappointed. I will check back and add a new review after I try out my 6 mm ARC at 1000 yards with my 5-25x PST Gen II scope.

About Jackal from TX, United States

I love building ANYTHING, from chemical research, compter engineering, electrical engineering, all forms of audio, and even microcode. Does it cost more to custom build? For the most part yes, but that is what makes it yours. You know every part, its strengths and hopefully no weaknesses. Its alot like car work. I hamdle ALL maintenance on mine as well as my wifes vehicle. When someone else does it its not the same. They normally dont check every little detail like I do, since it is MINE. Ive seen too many almost catistrophic yet tiny mistakes made service departments. I believe this to be true of prebuilt ARs as well. If someone all day builds the same gun over and over again, eventually something may be overlooked. Besides they are building a gun for anyone. Not just for you. I enjoy having to show my friends how to use my gun vs their prebuilt AR.
