I'm not sure why people buy this scope other than they "Think" they need it. They give up a ton.
A guy had one of these at our PCP pellet competition. He got schooled and had one of the better guns.
Why?
This scope.
- Blurred so badly at closer targets he missed them all. (variable 6-24 4200 and 4600 B. Elites no issues)
- Narrow FOV
- Tall Turret caps that you will never need, they just get in the way. This is a set it and forget it type. Use holdovers.
For 36x the optics are very good. But it can only do 36x and nothing else. In our competitions it lacks so much versitility to render it useless. If you are just shooting at 50-100 yards its ok but the lack of lower powers really hurts the FOV to the point people are shooting at the adjacent targets and not realizing it till its too late.
I compared it to a Bushnell Elite 6502 6-24 and the Elite was clearer 24x and could focus down to 10 yards which the Weaver could not come close to.
Now if you have to have 36x I would saw the weaver is a winner. You won't find a variable that can do 36x as clear for close to this price. Fixed optics can't be beat in this area.
The lack of versatility is the issue with this scope. Its like having a car that can only do 60 mph nothing slower or faster.
Anything close is blurred out and useless. It failed in our pellet gun competitions due to this.

This is my second T36. The first one came from a 6mm Dasher that with the T36 conspired to set an F class, Master NRA national record at 500yds. That record still stands. The T36 that I recently purchased from OpticsPlanet is a quality scope. It has helped me win several 50 and 100yd rimfire Benchrest matches. That is what this scope was designed for, and it excels. The glass is very good, and the reticle is wonderfully fine. It is easy to lay it on the center of the X ring. She and my Anschutz 54 get along quite nicely.
Do not be enticed to purchase this scope for hunting simply because of the high quality. It is a target scope. 1/8 MOA turret clicks are not good for the field, the field of view is small, and the eye relief is unforgiving, perfect for competition but not hunting.
Pros:
- Good glass, 40x with good sight picture, easy and extremely repeatable zero stop, 34mm
Best Used for:
- Target and Benchrest competition.

I bought this to use on my benchrest rimfire rifle after consulting several area accomplished shooters and it works great with unbelievable clarity and precision. 1/4 inch targets at 50 yards look like pie plates. It is great for targets and benchrest but not designed for hunting or anything that requires field of view. The 1/8 MOA dot and crosshairs are SMALL, but that is just what you need for precision and small targets out to 100 yards, in my case. The benchrest turrets are a nice feature as well when small incremental corrections are needed for changing conditions on the bench. I looked for a long time before purchasing this and after using it for two months I am convinced this scope is absolutely the best for the money. Shipping was fast, price was fare and function is better than expected. The front bell AO adjust is a plus for what I use it for because you generally set focus and never touch it the rest of the day. Optics Planet is my go to source for this type of purchase because they have always had excellent service, good prices, huge selection and fast shipping.
Pros:
- performance
- easy to set up and use
- Fit for purpose

I replaced a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire II 4-12x40 BDC 150 on my CZ 455 Varmint 22LR with this scope and was amazed how much better my groups got. I also no longer have any problems seeing my groups at 100 yards. I'm glad I got the Dot version because my old eyes would have had a tough time seeing the fine crosshair.

If you shoot bench rest at 25 yards or targets out to 100 yards ... this is pure & simply the most scope for the money.
Very good glass and a cross hair so fine that you can zero in on a pin head ... certainly wouldn't recommend it for hunting.
Pros:
- Perfect for Targets up to 100 Yards
Cons:
- The parallax can be a little temperamental

I shoot benchrest matches. The Weaver T36 is designed for this activity. What I like most about this optic is that the tracking system is super reliable. In benchrest, one errant shot can eliminate one from the competition. If I make an adjustment in the middle of the match, I have to be sure that it is spot on. I have complete confidence in this product's performance.

This is an excellent scope in many ways. I use this Weaver scope for small bore silhouette competition. I find it very repeatable meaning the adjustments I make to windage and especially elevation return to the exact spot I used previously, clear, and precise. I prefer a large image, and this scope gives it to me. I regard this Weaver 36-T as excellent, and useful as scopes costing 3 times as much.

I've been eyeing this scope for some time and finally bought it. Optics Planet had the best price, and I've always received great service, so really it was a no brainer to order it from them. With the extremely fine cross hairs I'm really glad I read the reviews and bought the 1/8 MOA dot. The distinct clicks with easy to read numbers and lines convinced me to buy this over its' competition.
