Oordered this because I have a bad habit of over tightening scope mount bolts, it works great easy to use and comes with most of the bits you need, seems to be made well, comes with loctite,and several different size bits

Awesome product. Nice heavy duty grade tooling. Easy written instructions along with a DVD. Watch the DVD and read the instructions and you won't have problem installing your scope mounting bases and rings. I have paid $25 to $50 dollars in the past to have my scopes mounted. With this kit, I am saving the money and buying ammo instead.

the weaver scope mounting kit is an outstanding product. it helped me level my crosshairs and torque the screws on the mount consistently. it assured me that the scope was perfectly seated the scope rings once i lapped them with the bar and lapping compound. Once it is done right never have to do it again. I rather do my own gunsmithing than sending it off to the butchers.

This kit will get you through the process of mounting your scope rings to your weapon with the included DVD. Just follow the instructions step by step and you really can't go wrong. Mind you ,the lapping compound is messy so be sure to cover the chamber area with a rag to keep the stuff from getting in there. Also, take your time ! Your going to have to check your progress with the lapping compound which will require you to clean the rings,both top and bottom , then remount and check with the ring alignment rods. Be fore warned, this is not a 5 minute job….to do it right it's gonna require you to remove and remount the rings 4 or maybe 5 times to get it all dialed in . Use a powered fastener driver to remove your ring fasteners and have a plastic bin with some SIMPLE GREEN cleaning solution handy for the cleaning segments.Have some Q-tips ready to clean those fastening holes. Its' a lapping compound right ? Running those fasteners in and out without cleaning will get 'em loose to the point that they won't tighten any more.This is especially important with the Alum. rings. Rubber gloves might be a good idea. When marking your ring parts with tape, use a permanent marker or they may be washed off. Aluminum Rings ? Don't tighten them beyond 10-15 inch lbs. Steel ones will be good at 15-20 inch lbs. Stick with this info and you'll be good.This is a gunsmiths job but gunsmithing isn't rocket science and you can do the job with this kit.

A very good kit for installation and alignment of scope rings/mounts. The lapping bar is especially useful for ensuring tight alignment. Highly recommend this kit.

I wish I had purchased this item many years ago when it first became available.

I didn't think I needed the lapping tools with the deluxe kit, but for a few dollars more figured it was a good deal. I'm glad I did because I've already used it to re-mount 1 scope, and will use it to make sure a few more scopes were mounted correctly. The torque wrench is by far the best I've seen.
