Shaving 10oz off of the 2014 UL build the new FL Lightning is still a freestanding, fully-featured shelter with maximum comfort at the minimum weight. Sierra Designs made it to carry the torch as the most livable and functional tent in its weight class.
Features of Sierra Designs Lightning 2 FL Tent:
- Massive covered foot vent - Creates a venting tunnel between the foot box and the drop door vent for unprecedented ventilation and condensation management
- Foot hoop - Full size foot box
- Freestanding - Can be pitched anywhere - no mater how impenetrable the ground surface
- Large single drop door - Single door saves weight, but is uncommonly wide and large enough for two to sit side-by-side
- 15 inch integrated awning poles - Maximizes the door opening and drip line without the weight of a support pole
- Hybrid double/single wall - Reduces weight and provides quick set up, even in the rain
- Gear closet - Gear storage where should it be - out of the way of the door. Can be toggled or left open for additional venting, but is still dry in a rainstorm
