Will the bolt hold open on last shot with this?

No. The 10/22 isn't set up for that. Last round bolt hold open generally requires a bolt and magazine that work together to make tis happen. The Winchester Wildcat has last round bolt hold open when using its own magazines. It'll also use 10/22 mags but the bolt won't hold open with them. The Wildcat has a floating barrel, is lighter than the 10/22 and just as accurate.

Does this bolt release work with the Tactical Solutions X-Ring backpacker model? I purchased the Volquartsen version and it does not work with TacSol Can you answer this question?

Releasing the bolt on a factory original 10/22 requires the operator to manipulate the bolt lock with one hand while releasing the bolt with the other. The TANDEMKROSS "Guardian" Bolt Release Plate eliminates this manual and tedious step. Once installed it enables the operator to release the bolt in an intuitive way by pulling back slightly on the bolt handle and the bolt simply releases.
