It is made of aluminum.

Since one review said this product can work its way lose, I must presume it does not use the guns reciever pins tp install. Just how dles it attach ? Expert Answer

The mount does use receiver pins to hold it in place. This is direct form their website:

"The ExoMount also comes packaged with captured receiver pins."

It really depends on how well the mount is installed that determines whether or not it will works itself loose.

It's a great rail system But the only complaint I have on this rail system would be that the side saddle would not stay on when I was firing my 870. The recoil will shake loose the saddle, some times the saddle will fall off. If you looking for a ...

This item was easy to install and is a great item for quick access for reloading.It also allows you to know type of ammo that you will be loading wether it be buckshot or slugs by feel in low light conditions

I installed this mount on my 870 and love the shell holders. it makes it really easy to carry extra ammo and installation was quick. The serial number is also still visible which is a nice plus. My only wish is that they made it in FDE.
