Yes, most of the treads will be tucked inside. You must account for the length you lose when the barrel is installed in the upper.

I have had to send back two handguards and barrel nuts already because the propietary gas block sits to high. If you have a specific build in mind as I did, check and makes sure that the handguard will work with this.
