Does this change an AR pistol to an SBR? Expert Answer

We don't provide legal advice, but adding a shoulder stock to any handgun would constitute an SBR.

Your best bet is to contact your closest BATFE Field Office for confirmation, and the application, assuming you live in one of the free states.

So this won’t fit a standard ar-15? Only side charging? Expert Answer

That is correct, the Tactical and Tactical Lite buttstocks will install on an AR platform. However if the AR is a rear charging weapon system, the cheek rest may interfere with the charging handle. The Tactical AR Buttstock is recommended for AR applications, and can be found here:

This is a well made buttstock with plenty of adjustment to compliment my MDT LSS chassis. It’s definitely a solid piece of equipment with a nice, wide cheek riser. Looks sweet without a lot of unnecessary junk.

Product Info for XLR Tactical Lite Buttstock

The XLR Tactical Litebuttstock is available for all XLR rifle chassis and other chassis systems that accept AR style buttstocks. The Tactical Lite stock is designed for weight conscientious shooters. This durable yet lightweight stock is very universal in its design and can be used for most all tactical, hunting, or competitive shooting. It features QD flush cups on the left and right sides, ambidextrous cheek rest, monopod provision, and enclosed design. This buttstock has an approximate 12 to 15 Length of Pull range with adjustable cheek rest height and recoil pad height. Stock will fit any standard AR-15 style mounting platform that is a bolt action or side charging. Stock includes carbine length buffer tube and castle nut.
