K1 is tapered castle nut version and K2 is lever lock version. Both are fantastic and negate the necessity for staking castle nuts and allow for easier removal when necessary. Make sure you torque correctly and they will serve you indefinitely. Addi...

This item works great if you are looking to make your buffer tube install much easier. It looks great and the Quick detach hole is a plus. Definitely an upgrade to the normal milspec. This item works like it should and I would buy again

Product Info for Fortis Manufacturing AR-15 LE Locking Lever Castle Nut/End Plate K2 System

When designing new Lightweight Enhanced (LE) Castle Nut and End Plate System, we came up with two systems that virtually eliminates the risk of ycastle nut ever backing out. With two lockdown systems (K1 and K2), we've engineered a solution to install the castle nut onto the end plate that is not only robust, but also stands true to brand of innovation and ingenuity. The K2 system utilizes a locking lever design that seats itself through a designed slot on the bottom of the end plate and into corresponding cutouts on the castle nut. This ultra precision fit allows the castle nut to seat itself into place without the need of staking the end plate. No set screws, no backing out and no failures. All of these features at only .53 oz / 15 grams!image
