Police Surplus Russian Police Riot Helmet

The Russian Anti-strike SSPU Helmet is a field tested and renowned armored helmet. The helmet is standard issue for the Russian OMON, Special Purpose Teams (KSN). OMON and police Spetsnaz (special designation) units operate under the joint command of the Russian Interior Ministry, and among other responsibilities, are tasked as riot police to control and stop unlawful demonstrations and hooliganism, as well as to respond to emergency situations involving violent crime.

The Anti-strike SSPU Helmet is designed to protect the user from mechanical influences, including blows from various objects such as stones, bottles, open flames, poles, as well as adverse climatic influences. The helmet includes the body, a cushioning and restraint system, protected auditory openings, an aventail (neck protection), and a removable visor. The adjustable suspension system allows the user to fit the helmet to the specific shape of the head for a secure and reliable fit.

The visor is made from thermoformed polycarbonate with a rubber seal and covered with a special waterproof repellant. The aventail is made of foamed polyethylene and vinyl. The chin strap has an automatic clasp and is adjustable along the length of the strap.

Features of Police Surplus Russian Police Riot Helmet:

• Each helmet is designed to protect the user's head from wounds inflicted by various striking elements and cold stabbing weapons.
• Each helmet provides protection from cold weapons, special class GOST P 50744 (dagger, knife) with the energy impact of up to 50 J.
• Each helmet provides protection from shock loads with impact energy of up to 100 J. When a vertical impact of 50 J energy is received, the force transferred to the product, and then on to the head, does not exceed 5 kN.

EACH HELMET IS EQUIPPED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

• An anti-sweating visor made of impact-resistant polycarbonate with a rubber seal for adverse climatic conditions;
• Aventail;
• Auditory openings;
• Auto clasp with adjustable chin strap for a secure and reliable fit;
• The internal helmet size easily adjusts from size 58 to 62.
• Impacts to the helmet with energy of 25 J or less will not collapse the casing, and the rotary-fixing device stays intact and fit.
• Communication devices can be used with the helmet;
• Individual means of protecting respiratory organs can be used;
• The helmet is designed to withstand at least 1500 cycles of strikes before failure.
