Will a 9” MFR fit on a DD mid Length with an A2 front sight base? The rail is designed with a lip at the front bottom - fear FSB interference issues.

The Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail Systems are designed to be used with low profile gas blocks and use a barrel nut opposed to delta ring and handguard cap. I would just recommend replacing your fixed front sight for a low profile gas block in order to fit this handguard as it was intended.

You can replace the rail on the DDM4A1 with the Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail Systems.

Can you use the rail with a surefire socom suppressor?

The Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail Systems has an internal diameter of 1.39". The Surefire SOCOM suppressor 556 models have a diameter of 1.5" so they will not fit within the Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail Systems.

The Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail System will not work with piston driven uppers like the Primary Weapons Systems MK114 MOD 1-M upper.

The Daniel Defense MFR XS Rail Systems 9" model cannot be used on a mid length gas system rifle with an A2 front sight post.

This handguard will work with any standard AR-15 upper receiver including any of the AR-15 options from Daniel Defense. You may be able to reuse some parts of the handguard depending on exactly what handguard you have on it, but bare minimum the handguard will come with all of the hardware needed.
