Just as required for my build for when I was in the Air Force!

*I’d like to note that I did not buy mine new from Optics Planet, I picked mine up on the used market but the review still applies*

***PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STICK WITH LITHIUM BATTERIES!***

Over time, the alkaline batteries WILL weep and batty acid will cake up and prevent the removal of the battery cap. This forces you to (worst case scenario) dremel the battery cap off like I had to. This issue has been known for years by guys that have bought these as military surplus optics but cutting into an optic I bought new for $1000 would personally make me nervous lol. Now, onto the review.

Imagine if you would, finally splurging on a $1000 red dot after your time behind ~$200 Holosuns and the like. Excitement and impatience of your new optic is all you can think about at your desk of the boring 9-5 job you have to afford your expensive hobby. It finally arrives and it brings you back to qualifying in the Army (or myself, Airforce). Nostalgia and performance? Yes. Life is now good and restless rifle syndrome has been quenched, for now.

Brightness knob is tactile, even the salty one I picked up secondhand is very positive. Obviously, if you have an astigmatism, you’ll be staring at a / . However for those of us blessed with standard eyesight, before you is a very crisp dot with a decent range of brightness. Not too many, not too little. Under my gen 3 PVS-14, it gives off a COD 4:MW vibe for sure.

My recommendation between the M4 and M4S would probably go to the ...

Comp4 arrived.
I placed on the rifle and it fit well. Easy install of course.
It sits very high so I decided to remove the space. I used the
supplied allen wrench. One screw came out without any trouble. The
second stripped out immediately with first attempt. Now I cant get the
screw out at all. Frustrated to say the least.
to use the Comp4 in this condition, I would have to put the rifle at the
lower part of my chin.

The finish on the scope is well done. The glass is clear and the red dot is
clear at all levels. There are better mounts. Consider getting the scope without
the mount and order the Larue Tactical. Great mount and it doesn't protrude out. .

This is a great product by Aimpoint. It fits my rifle perfect and I would definitely buy it again.

I have used these sights multiple times in the military and still do in my current unit. The only thing good I can say about them is that they are durable. The glass is too small and good luck trying to look down range if you have a helmet without low cut sides. Once the glass gets dirty in the field, it's extremely difficult to get cleaned. The glass itself is small, if it was slightly bigger, it would be easier to look down range. The red dot is smaller then it should be, needs to be 3 MOA or bigger. It also needs to be at least 3x mag otherwise you're only clearing rooms. The brand itself is good, but not this product.

Just received the Comp m4s with a Midwest industries QD mount. That mount is Rock solid trust me. Kept the spacer and used the same screws with a little blue Loctite. Sits on my CZ Scorpion EVO3 carbine. Both eyes open and works fine with the Kill Flash over the Lense in any light. Can't wait to take it to the range.

If you want a red dot that can withstand really anything you can throw at it, you found it. It is a little on the heavy side but it's not your regular red dot. It's a drag through the mud, throw it across the street and it still functions red dot. Dot is clear, brightness is great and was spot on out of the box I have nothing bad to say about this sight.

Title says it all. There is no compromise on this product. Lets face it, you are either an Eotec or Aimpoint guy/gal. I happen to prefer this one as I used this optic overseas in those hot, dusty places without a problem. Both of these are battle tested, rugged and reliable. I love the AA battery instead of the old button batteries. I am planning on mounting this on every AR platform I own. I spent about the same amount of money trying to find a replacement for this pricy, optic. Now I own 4 optics that sit in a box on a shelf.
If your life depends on it, this is your optic. The Army finally got something right.

Optic is bulletproof with superb battery life. Hard to beat the value with included mount battery and tools. This is a set it and forget it optic that will exceed most users needs and abilities. Buy with confidence
