I got a pvs14 white phosphorus Gen3 hand picked best they sell. If you can only buy one or the other I would go Flir Breach over the PVS14 just my opinion. I saved enough to buy both but if I had to choose I would do only the flir. It makes it super easy to see any heat traces of people. I can see where my dog walks or lays on the floor for minutes after he moved not to mention when he laied a sideways steamer I could see that baby glow in the grass for an hour at night in the pitch black.

Purchased this flir breach from optic planet whom I enjoy doing business with. Received it today. The Breach looks nice but stoped working within the first five minutes of use. It won’t turn on. Tried four separate batteries and no luck. I’m returning it. Through with Flir products.
Cons:
- Does not work after a few min.

I added the Flir breach to a Dual mount from ModArmory next to a Gen3 PVS-14 WP. I am still fine tuning but if you use outdoor alert on the lowest brightness it is possible to over lay well but it takes time to get used to. There are some times it lags for like .25 seconds but rarely.
Works very well independant of the pvs14 during the day. Lots of different color schemes.
Definitly get an External battery pack if you want to use this.
Over all, a great product but if I could change one thing it would be to update the menu, make it easier to turn on/off. Maybe an app would be nice.

this is an update to previous negative review...so after more than a week of effort I did make contact with FLIR and they are bending over backwards to make this right....OK, stuff happens, sending me a new BREACH, learned that this is NOT designed as a weapons mount (ITAR rules) helmet mount IS available thru FLIR, disagree with design (mini-rail) will keep you guys updated as to resolution.....cannot give a star rating until I have some time behind the BREACH and try it out !

this item does not function out of the box....compass will not calibrate...thermal does not detect beyond about 40 yards ...drains the batteries alarmingly fast ...there is NO customer service....optics planet deleted my review because I focused on the lack of customer care..but what else is there if a product will not work !! DO NOT PURCHASE !!!!!

I bought my PTQ136 through DVOR (shipped from Optics Planet) on December 13th and it arrived December 19th. I was pretty excited to get the thing out and try it. At first I had trouble even getting it to turn on. Then after multiple tries it came alive. I was pretty impressed with the quality of the thermal and pallets. Was having fun until after a few minutes, it just shut off. Took a while to get it to turn back on and finally I was up and running again. Then a few minutes into viewing, the screen completely pixelated and I couldn't see anything. I could see stuff faintly so knew it hadn't frozen up, but could not make out anything through the pixilation. Finally I had to shut it off and restart it. It ran for a few seconds then pixelated again. I've only used it for a few minutes at a time and each time had a different problem. Tonight, it has been starting up and then just shutting down every few minutes. Then for a while, I would try to turn it on and would get the FLIR logo screen but it was a bright orange flash, and then immediate shut off. I've tried multiple batteries and even an external battery pack but still get the intermittent shut downs and occasional orange flash screen with no start up. Needless to say at this point I'm not that pleased with having spent over $2,000 for a lemon. I have contacted FLIR support via email but haven't had any contact from them yet. I thought I would ask them what I should try. At this point, I'm not even sure who to contact to se...

I wish i would have read the other review about this. Not really good if you don't have a thermal scope. Can't mount on weapon so you can't really stay on target if you can't see target.
The focus is limited as well.

I bought this along with a Team Wendy Helmet to use while Hog Hunting and have not been let down! Easy to use and adjust this unit allows me to walk in total darkness and scan for Hogs. Once I spot a target I just flip up the Wilcox mount its attached to and get on my Flir PTS233 and seal the deal. Definitely worth the money!
Pros:
- Affordable
- Easy to use & operate
Best Used for:
- Hunting Recreational viewing
