It feels nice and heavy, and the spring is good quality, but for a sound mitigation buffer it actually manages to make MORE sound while cycling than the standard spring/buffer. Ar9 version
this buffer is way to light for an AR 9. do not use for a blow back system

Lightens felt recoil AND tube noise!
Considering the cost of just changing the buffer, this was a no brainer. Mitigation of buffer tube scrape with the captured spring and a noticeable reduction of felt recoil for less than JUST a new buffer! I liked it so much I bought one for my other lower build!

I've owned all 4 generations of Armaspec sound mitigation buffers.
Gen 3 and 4 are the best. If you want a simple single spring set up go for the gen 3. I use one in my ar that has just enough gas to function. The gen 4 dual spring wont lock back but it's an under gassed issue not the buffer.
The gen 4 kit with all 3 weights is my favorite. The second spring for end of travel helps with what little recoil there is.

h3 sound mitigation buffer
Recently installed a forced reset safety selector and needed a heavier buffer, a friend suggested I get the h2 or h3 so I placed my order for one. It came super fast and worked great right out the package. So much so that I ordered another h3 for another project

It's the "cat's meow" - - - w/o the noise!
Not only quiet but, if needed, easy to tune. (This one worked in my 9mm as shipped.) Third one and I will buy another when needed. And I might add, at a really good price, thanks to Optics Planet.
