Makes Your Kestrel Meter Better

I wasn’t sure about investing in this accessory. I mean, I can use my iPhone as a HUD as well. But the phone has a tendency to overheat in the sun, or at least become difficult to read. The HUD is bright, and with larger text, much easier to read.
The benefit of placing the Kestrel meter four or more feet in the air on a vane shouldn’t be underestimated— it yields much better results as the wind speed and direction changes. Having the HUD means not having to get out of position to check the current reading on the meter. That’s especially nice when shooting prone.
My one bugaboo is the backlighting on the device. Either it’s too dim, or my particular unit has an issue; I still need to check I’m with Hornady on that.

Awesome Ammo

I wish OP allowed photos in reviews, because I’d share the results from my morning zeroing session with this new-for-me ammo. The BC is high, and the consistency is amazing. I was shooting 1-1/2” x 3/4” groups at 400 yards.
The only problem I’ve encountered is it failing to feed occasionally when running the bolt. The cartridge seems to cant forward just enough that bullet tip catches below the feed ramp. I haven’t seen this issue with the two other brands I’ve used.

Compact, easy to use, accurate. This chronograph is great.
I set this up on a nodal rail that attaches to the ARCA Swiss rail beneath my gun. After 200 shots, it hasn't failed yet. Great for Full Size

I've got a couple of original LifePods, and while they're great for locking up my compact pistols when I'm barred from carrying one into a "gun free" location, they won't accommodate a full size pistol. In fact, this has enough capacity to lock up my P226 even when it's in its holster.
I didn't think I'd care about the interior light much, but the couple times I've transferred my gun, it's turned out to be very helpful.
The only downside as compared to the smaller LifePod is the finish. While the original had a smooth, glossy finish, this model I bought (red) is matte, and it shows scratches on the surface much more.

Armageddon Gear Kestrel Pocket
First, a note: This was sold on OP through Kestrel, but was recently discontinued.
Lots of things to like about it. Most importantly, it provides great protection for your several-hundred dollar Kestrel instrument. I like the fact that it’s American made. It fits like a glove.
Several reviews on the original Kestrel page complained about the lanyard not fitting inside the case. They’re wrong; wrap the lanyard around the periphery of your device, orient the device so its curves match those of the case, i.e. the rounded corners on the zipper side, and it fits perfectly.

I first decided on trying ski feet after a tutorial by Ryan Cheney on accuracy and recoil. These certainly fill the bill for letting the rifle slide and not buck.

Along with my first Sig pistol, I picked up three different weights of 9mm ammo. I love shooting the 124gr. Sig brand is a little more expensive, but it’s great quality, and I’ve never had it jam. So when this close out sale came online, I stocked up.

5.11 Tactical Rush Moab 6 Sling Pack
As a youth, I carried my schoolbook backpack over one shoulder as a sling bag. So I guess I have a bias toward that configuration. That said, the 5.11 Rush Moab 6 is a nice, compact bag for a day trip, or range essentials.
It hangs comfortably across the back, with enough space for extra ammo, range finder, IFAK, and hydration. I likevthe accessibility of the compartments.
The build is solid and of good quality.

Vortex Precision Extended Cantilever Mount
This cantilevered mount is just what I needed to squeeze out an additional 20 MOA as I work toward my goal of hitting 1 mile. It’s easy to attach, and though a little long, does leave enough space on the rail for my level indicator. Mounting the scope was easy as well, as the rings are perfectly in alignment as compared to a pair of rings.
