P320XC-RXP

Written on Jul 10, 2022

If you own this Sig pistol in 3.6" barrel length (compact), please do not be confused with the X-carry if you're new to Sig pistols. This light is truly astounding and fits any full size weapon with ease, but if you wanted to use this TLR1s with your compact, it is unlikely to operate effectively without modification. By modification, I mean using the smallest adapter included in the kit, which makes the light switch stick to the trigger guard. Another option is if you have a 3d printer, which I don't, to create a 1913 adapter that goes right above the TLR manual thread bolt.

Tiny bit impactful

Written on Feb 26, 2022

When I received this order, I was curious of the installation
Once installed, I was curious of how the laser and light worked. Then once I figured that out, I thought to myself, this isn't the most tactical light setup because it requires screwing it on (carefully, not to over tighten) and changing the battery could be a bit time consuming under stressful conditions. I love the setup though because it's seamless, it adds a decent balance to the weapon, and it's not hard to use. I drop one star because of the battery replacement, but do recommend this for it's overall usefulness and the plethora of holsters for the P365 SAS and TLR6 online and eBay.

Does the job

I thought this sleeve would be a little more snug but it definitely covers and protects the EOTech multiplier just fine. It helps keep fingerprints off your 3x multiplier when holding the weapon. I have not tested the integrity of the sleeve or played with it enough to determine it's strength for long term use. I have it installed now but the rifle is in a hard case.

Battery not included ;)

Written on Jun 17, 2020

Remember that movie? Well, it has nothing to do with this review! The Fenix HL50 was a researched headlamp I thought would be comparable to the Streamlight Sidewinder Military Compact II Flashlight (model 14513). The head strap is comfortable and easy to adjust and the light system itself is brighter than the Streamlight. It has a dual output capability as the Sidewinder but doesn't include either AA or CR123A battery, which makes the $49 price tag that much more conflicting. The light frame requires adding or removing an attachment that allows battery interchangeability. The power switch is programmable, which allows an alternate-on feature. Pressing the switch once illuminates either a high or low setting, or whatever setting you last turned the device off at. It takes getting used to.

Best Compact Flashlight

Written on Jun 17, 2020

If you are wondering, is this a good light? The answer is, Yes! The case is aluminum, it is lightweight, batteries are included, and there is a tiny loop hole to tie a cord or add a ring to.The three settings for High, Strobe, and Low are easy to use and consistent but it does take getting used to if you're used to other companies settings. The battery life is comparatively the best on the market for its size and lumen at 14hrs on low with a lithium CR123A or lithium AA; time is cut in half using a standard alkaline AA. A single lithium AA allows greater battery life putting the strobe function at 8 hours, high for 4 hours, and low for 14hrs. It's dual battery setup allows interchangeable use of a single AA or a single CR123A lithium battery without adding or removing components. It is definitely my favorite light having one in each color for my girlfriend and I. Do note, the CR123A battery included may have less than the allocated 10 years shelf life left as these items are shipped accordingly.

Tiny little knife!

Written on Jun 17, 2020

I have not been paying attention to the things I am buying. This quarantine is affecting my judgement. This knife looks bigger than it really is and the 3.6" length is not noticeable until you hold it in your hand. If you have a large hand, this knife's purpose may become limited or restricted. There is limited grip on the neck and room for only one finger. That large opening is NOT for another finger unless you have tiny baby hands. It also seems there is only one way to hold it, which is from the top of your hand, pressing against the gooseneck ridges. It is definitely sharp and terribly pointy. I can imagine this being use in close-combat, but you risk being disarmed due to a difficult grip.

Tiny little case!

Written on Jun 17, 2020

The photos for this case are deceptive, although, one's impression is easily fooled despite measurements and intuition.

The case is tiny! I was expecting something a bit bigger but thankfully, this is smaller than I thought. It has a rubber seal around the case, which provides water protection. Inside the case is a foam backing on the top to keep the batteries from moving about and rattling but is not affixed to the top. The case also has strap loops (you can use 550 cord) to use to tie it to a bag.

Best EDC light for the price

Written on May 10, 2020

I researched for weeks on the right EDC light comparing numerous brands, including the overly pricey Surefire, and arrived at Streamlight for a number of reasons. First - Quality: Streamlight has a long history of great, purpose but lights in a variety of sizes, brightness, and battery life. This range surpasses Surefire in a broad, yet general, range. For the sake of general comparisons, Surefire is the way to go for tactical and military applications. It's just proven. For everything else, particularly EDC, I'll opt out for anything reliable, aluminum, bright, strong, and in a competitive price range. Second - Cost: it's no comparison, really, that Streamlight is less costly and equally useful when comparing EDC lights and a variety of other lighting systems. Third - Battery life: after careful reviews, this is one of the few lights out there that fulfill EDC purpose, longevity (22 hours on low setting), AND has the strobe feature all in a tiny, aluminum body.

Follow the instructions

Written on May 10, 2020

Let's start by saying, unpacking is not straight forward, especially if you want to try to preserve the packaging to return it. The structure is slim compared to Surefire and extremely lightweight with the included CR123a battery installed. The installation onto the pistol is extremely easy and includes a hex key in the form of.....a key. The Cree LED light is bright in each setting and is obvious to discern from each 100, 200, and 300 lumens as you cycle through the selectable output. Of note, user must "press and hold both switches to cycle" through the outputs. Once that output is selected, you can single press to turn it on keeping that selected output or hold the switch for momentary on. I will say ahead, this is NOT a tactical light where speed is your interest or brightness; also, there is no strobe feature! I love that the install was quick and simple; I love that the battery can be installed without removing the assembly. I do not love the very different, push button switch, to switch on. Would I recommend? Absolutely! For the cost, this is a great, lightweight, home-protection and even holster carry light.

Buy once, cry once - Solid Nanuk 990 for AR

Written on Apr 22, 2020

The case is similar to Pelican; solid and of great (not high) quality, but you will hear a hiss if you press firmly on the body, which leads me to question the seal installed on the lid. The locking mechanism works and affords you the ability to add two locks to the end corners of the case. The wheels roll smoothly although I have not rolled this on anything other than a smooth surface yet. Of course, please remember this is not a safe. It would almost be the complete opposite of one because it can be rolled away.

A standard 16" AR with optics and BUIS fits in here almost perfectly. The foam is soft, yet sturdy enough to make easy cut outs to fit your weapon with its accessory (hand stop, laser, bipod, etc.). I had to make a cut-out for the front sight and it looks very clean, keeping the weapon in place. I place eight Magpul magazines in their place with what looks like a 1/4" exposure above the foam line.

Of significant note:

1. This is not as commodious as a soft 36" NCSTAR VISM double carbine case where I can carry two adjustable ARs and a small cleaning kit, or one-AR and include a larger OTIS ELITE Universal Tactical Cleaning System (not purchased from Optics Planet).

2. If you own a larger full-size pistol, specifically a .45 caliber; the rear-sight/back-slide corner may stick up higher than a Compact or Sub-compact. A Sig Sauer P220 Combat has a threaded barrel that add's 1/2 inch to the length and slightly affects the geometry. Nothing serious.

3. If you own a f
