Purchased thru DVOR with the MGR ret. Glad to see both a 50mm objective, and also the tunneling has been reduced. The FOV @ 17 power is absolutely wonderful. Colors are right up there with the best, and the CA is little to be found. Resolution is aces, picture is HUGE and optics are very bright. The eyebox is quite friendly and parallax band is deep. The new turrets are extremely positive with the double detent, and zeroing is a breeze without the need for tools or allen wrenches. Only negative is the battery replacement - can't tell you how much I despise the tiny threads on the push button cap - that was the only fumble here in what amounts to one of the best mid-range scopes money can buy. If you are looking for something under 20 power it would be hard to do better than the B-17
Compared side by side with S&B & NF ATACR - the picture, color, & resolution really are world class.

When looking at scopes b/w $2500-3500 the K624i should garner serious consideration. The picture quality can be compared to the best of the best. Amazing light transmission with Kahles claiming 95%! Colors are more true to the eye compared to Vortex Razor Gen II, but colors do not pop quite as much as the Nightforce ATACR. I own all 3 and can say with confidence that the Kahles is my favorite. Weight is very light compared to other high end tactical 24-30x scopes. The optical prescription is nothing short of great, however the single flaw is the chromatic aberration. This can be noticed on targets at distance where the edges of the target appear solid as the colors blend together. Depending on lighting conditions you may also notice a very slight hint of purple to green fading from top to bottom. The CA exists, but I can only attest to this when specifically looking for it. I have never noticed it when the pressure is on and about to pull the trigger. The ATACR excels here, but to get a proper Christmas tree reticle you need to pay $300 more, and if you want illumination, forget about it!
Zero stop is the most simplistic design I have ever used, and the clicks are excellent as well. Second rotation indicator on top of dial is aces!
Lastly, the availability to have parallax control on top, and windage on the left side means the shooter can dial in any direction with only the left hand while keeping the right finger on the trigger. Kahles is often ahead of th

The issue with the classic Badger tac-latch and the many attempts to design an add on latch for ambidextrous charging of any AR platform.. is they snag on gear, or seatbelts, or your shirt, or your face.
Troy built this one with a very pleasant to operate mechanism that is rounded into the handle. Easy to operate with either hand, no differing feel between right and left sides. While being expensive for a simple charger, it does come in cheaper than some competitors selling inferior designs. Cheers to Troy, check one out & you will not be disappointed.

The Razor GEN II scopes are just great. This model can be compared to anything under $3k, you are not compromising anything on optical quality or features. Weight is the known hamstring of the GEN II Razors, but how important that is really depends on your type of shooting, as this was designed for tactical use.
FOV is excellent. Eyebox is excellent. Brightness is unmistakable. Resolution is right where you might expect it to be, very good but not quite as sharp as competitors such as the ATACR F-1 or K624i. Parallax adjustment is pretty true to the markings, but because this scope is so good at presenting a clean picture - it can be hard to tell when you have reached the optimal parallax setting - which is somewhat influenced by the lack of resolution when compared to other alpha class scopes.
Illumination is very good as well as the controls, the pull out locking mechanism is aces.
Turrets are stiff and positive, push-pull locking, & are very very good IMO.
The kicker for me is the reticle. The EBR-2C is absolutely aces. To get a ret this good with other MFG you often have to pay an extra $500 or more.
All things considered the GEN II Razor is competitively priced for the features and quality it presents. Yes it is heavy, and the resolution at long range does not quite measure up to other tier 1 scopes, but the Vortex outperforms anything in its' price point. Vortex continues to present great value to the consumer for the money invested.

I dont care what type of shooting you want to do. If you need a low power scope with mid range flexibility, this is the one! Optics are razor clear and crisp. The large eyebox allows for great relief, and virtually disappears once behind the glass. Turrets are much better than expected, very easy to set. Illumination is very good when you need it.
Fast, reasonably light in weight considering the options, I would put the picture up there with anything cost $800 more!
If you have been on the fence about the GenII please do yourself a favor and pick one up.

I recently purchased this from OP on a great sale price. With any Kahles product, I had high expectations. This scope is intended to act as an upgrade over the Zeiss HD5. At double the retail cost, I was hoping for a noticeable difference in FOV, picture quality, and light transmission.
Upon arrival the scope was packaged well and there were no concerns about travel abuse.
Viewing targets when sighting in was a joy. The zero method on these turrets is a bit different than the tactical/target scopes I am more accustomed to, but was able to figure it out quickly with the help of the user's manual. Since my setup is for pigs and varmints using a 6.8spc round, the Kahles along with it's very wide FOV seemed ideal.
After dialing in I was able to take it out to the ranch for field testing. What a pleasure it is to observe nature with this glass. Certainly a step up from the HD5. This scope is also brighter than any other optic I own - which includes Bushnell XRS (34mm), Steiner T5Xi, Leupold Mk 6, Valdada 3.5-18
Color rendition is also impressive, but what really stands out from the 1st second you get behind the glass is the brightness of the picture. I swear it is brighter than the naked eye (at least mine).
My only complaint is that this scope is so capable, why not include a parallax adjustment? The parallax is fixed at 100 yds with your choice of 4 Dot (plex) or G4B reticle. I chose the later and am happy with the choice. The G4B gives the hunter 3 hashmark

"It's a magnifier, it shouldn't cost that much." says everyone who doesn't own one of these. Look, I learned the hard way. $100 magnifiers are not good. $200 magnifiers are also not good. And then good luck finding a mount that comes close to the one supplied with the G33. After purchasing a $200 magnifier, then upgrading the mount, I was looking at $350 for a magnifier that has a smaller FOV, lesser definition, and an inferior mount to the G33. That is the equation I experienced. That does not mean all other magnifiers stink, but if you want to know where the money goes, there is my experience. Buy once, cry once.

As expected, this version of the DBAL performs flawlessly in all settings. One should consider price when comparing like options, and any version of the DBAL is likely 4x+ what most civilians consider. As NV has gotten cheaper on the civilian market, these tools are becoming more viable. Having both a NV and daytime aiming point is great. If you do not use NV, you likely do not need such a model, however the performance and consistency of the daytime laser is better than any of the $200 range lasers I have personal experience with.
Controls are aces compared to cheaper imitations.
Tape switch is superior in operation and durability compared to cheaper imitations.
Mount height is made to clear an ACOG, some low mounted optics may have issues in close observations. I have mine mounted on an M4 clone with a Steiner M536. Needed to use the riser on the M536 in order to get clearance over the DBAL. Any mount with a center line at or above 1.5" should be kosher.

The DBAL set the standard for weapon mounted lasers a long time ago. These models have powerful and consistent lasers which really are noticeably better than the competition. The only complaint about the I-2 is the NV pointer mist be zeroed individually from the red laser.

I chose the Vortex precision matched rings due to the height offerings. Wanted to come down from 1.7" offset and I liked the ranges which the Vortex rings came in. The Vortex symbol is engraved on the top of the rings, which concerned me when looking at them online. Upon installation however, I was pleasantly surprised with the finish to the product. The matte coating does not glare, and the insignia does not attract the eyeball as I feared it would. Using on a .308 WIN, no issues with recoil or return to zero after 100 rounds. Did need to re-tighten a few screws after the 1st shoot, but that should be standard protocol anyhow. I would not hesitate to purchase these again if the need arose.
