Great, semi light weight gun rest. Works good zeroing and testing ammo.

Poor design. Not reverseable. Will not work well for left handed shooters. Not ambidextrous. I had to write more down before they would accept my review. Apparently they like long winded reviews. Not recommended.

I have been using it for the last several weeks and found it very effective. It was an easy set up as long as you read the instructions. It is quite heavy so it provides a solid base of support. The rifle recoil will still move the whole platform but there are very few ways to prevent that.

Works as advertised. I recently had shoulder surgery and I don't want to have it again! With 25lb bag of shot in the sled, recoil is really mitigated. It's also a convenient set up for any bench shooting activities.
Pros:
- It works! Also a nice rest on the bench for shooting, cleaning, adjusting the long gun at range.
Cons:
- Yet more gear to haul to the range
Best Used for:
- Bench rest sighting-in, target shooting

Very disappointed with performance. Just like the description states, "recoil reducing rest". If you are looking for a bench rest to zero your scope you will be disappointed with the stability of this rest.
Cons:
- not stable enough to hold even a small caliber rifle

I bought this sled because it has the offset frame to be able to use with a lever gun or an AR without hitting the pistol grip and it lets you insert mags without removing the rifle. My biggest complaint is it uses a screw vs. spring tension to raise and lower the muzzle but the spring isn't very strong so it's really easy to push down on the back while getting your cheekweld which in turn raises the muzzle up. Makes it hard to keep your crosshairs solid on the target which is the entire point of the rest. It's better than a bipod but not much. I suggest spending the extra money and getting the DFT 2. Most likely what I will do.

I was looking for a rest that would allow use by multiple shooters. This rest looked like a viable option until I learned that it cannot be used for left-handed shooters. That should be posted in any advertisement.

I used the original lead sled at my range for several years with just old lead shot bags filled with sand as ballast. Worked pretty good. Could see that it was helping me get better groups out of my guns and loads. Helped take me out of the equation. Got a Lead Sled DFT for myself and have 50#'s of lead shot in 2 bags for it. Much improved design over the original lead sled and my lead shot bags help a lot as well. Where the DFT falls short (literally) is with AR platform guns. The dual rails get in the way of the pistol grip on AR's. So I got the Solo for shooting AR platform guns. IMO it is a terrible design. The main beam is on a pivot with a spring to steady it up. The forend of your rifle is supposed to be cinched down in the front rest with a nylon strap with velcro. News flash, for maximum accuracy, you don't want anything touching the barrel of a rifle. If your AR bbl is free floated in the forend, then this might be OK but I found the whole Solo rest to be so wobbly and unstable as to be unsuitable for accurate shooting. I think I will end up donating the Solo to my shooting club and just stick with my DFT. I found putting a 1" block of wood (think alphabet block) in the rear rest solves the pistol grip and rail interference problem.

Right out of the box this rest was impressive. VERY sturdy construction. I like the simplicity of it: strap it in, line it up, shot. I have only used this for .22 but I can tell it will work just as good for the .308.

I have been using a homemade vise to use to sight in my rifles. This old system used 2 sand bags(handmade using blue jean leg material) set on top of the homemade wooden vise or box. This sit on top of a special cut plywood board that was 5/8" thick. This board is clamped to one of the old portable work benches. This product was easy to put together. I find the product to be well built. It did help on the shoulder when I put a sandbag on the tray. Adjusting the crosshairs utilizing the adjustment wheels was excellent. Only problem I ran into was once I had it lined up it would move as soon as I shouldered the gun. So I ended up trying to zero or reset it as it has now moved. I found this to be a little irritating. I think the problem is the front "V" is not that secure as the rounded part of the forearm of the rifle doesn't lay into the "V" just right. I tried tightening it but it didn't make it much better. The other problem I had was this new system sits higher than the other system due to the height of the 3 pegs. I didn't have another stool that I could adjust so I had to do the spread leg system to get down where I needed to be. This was tiring and uncomfortable. Finally, and this is my fault, the workhorse was not that steady with me in the odd ball position I was in. I can solve this problem by building a permanent shooting table. I was shooting a Savage Model 11 7mm 08. The gun fit good in the system. I like the system and do recommend it but you have to be a...
